But it wasn't all business success for Dearborn; during World War II, it played an important role as a military base providing munitions for US forces fighting overseas. Today that history remains visible throughout Dearborn with numerous memorials to soldiers from both World Wars located throughout key areas including Downtown and Plymouth Park neighborhoods near Ford Field where many of those troops live today! It was also during this time that Marquette experienced some significant growth - its population doubled from just under 10,000 to 30,000 between 1940 and 1950 thanks to easy access to education opportunities through local schools such as Wayne State University (then Wayne State College) across Main Street from the township hall (now part of MCI-Marquette Regional Airport).
