Beeson bought the mill and changed it into a flour milling business called Beeson's Flour Mills Incorporated. The mill closed in 1967 and was replaced by an Auto Parts store next door which still operates today as a small grocery store/bakery/cafeteria combo.. In 1908 James Hickey opened a general store that became known as Hickey's Mercantile Store before being renamed Kline's Department Store in 1966 when it merged with J&J Enterprises Incorporated (a predecessor of Sears Holdings). The last remaining building from Hickey's Mercantile Store still stands today on Main Street adjacent to Kline's Department Store across from Woodward Technical High School (now known as Woodward Elementary School). In 1984 Biederman Paper Products Company erected a paper manufacturing plant south of town on Belleview Road which remains operational today as Biederman Paper USA LLC..
