In 1937, President Franklin D Roosevelt dedicated the Eisenhower Grove at Lincoln Park as part of his “Presidential Parks” program designed to promote outdoor programming within urban areas. The grove included two golf courses as well as tennis courts, a swimming pool (now closed),a weight room/fitness center/,and art galleries/. Today's Eisenhower Grove features several interactive exhibits related to America's first president and provides a unique opportunity for visitors to learn about history while enjoying natural resources close by
