This region had strong economic development potential thanks to its strategic location between Toronto and Buffalo along Lake Erie; its numerous shipping routes connecting different parts of North America; its abundant natural resources including coal and iron ore; as well as its growing reputation for learning institutions like Albion College (now Wayne State University),Michigans Central College (later Wayne State Community College),and Eastern Michigan University—all located within easy reach by car or train or bus linkages into other cities across Canada and beyond." During World War II both Detroit area factories were closed down due to lack Of materials needed for war production while Lansing remained unaffected because it housed military equipment suppliers such as Ford Motor Company who produced tanks etc instead As a result many auto plants were built here during this time while downtown lost alot

Wright successfully founded Sticks Landing onPMDetroit River which becameama central transportation hub for both Lower and Upper Canada until 1840 when Congress placed British sovereignty over all lands north of Lake Ontario under American control as part of their internal policy known as Indian Removal Act. According to History channel programs some other nearby places where earlier Europeans may have been resident include: Petoskey near modern Port Huron on opposite shore from mouthof river Rouge River & many other locations further upriver but those are just guesses based off research only! Anyway back then no one really knew exactly where everything was so Settlement started out very slowly especially since there were only few families here & they mostly brought their own food sources & tools etc back with them so everything started out quite small before more people came & started settling down permanently around 1800/1910s when things really picked up again!
