From 1870 until 1907, electrical power came from three privately owned generators located along Woodward Avenue NW: generator No. 1 started operations on December 10th 1870; No 2 worked intermittently until May 4th 1906; and Generator No 3 commenced operations on October 15th 1907 providing power for both lights in downtown Kalamazoofortress building (now part of Midtown Campus Mercy HealthCare) as well as illumination in several blocks north of main street including east side of First National Bank Building which still remains operational today with all necessary system components except transformer replacement required every 5 years or so due to anticipated increase in electric bills caused by new technology etc.) Prior to this time there was only hand powered lighting available throughout downtownKalamazOOftress building from large chandeliers above doorways up through high ceiling spaces since early 1800s

A year later, on December 14th, 1840, Kalamazoo became one of eight cities included within the newly formed Michigan Territory when that territory was established following Mexican cession at Buena Vista Creek near modern day Flint. During World War I (1914-18), significant production took place at Dortch Paper Company's paper mill located in downtown Kalamazoo which processed munitions during World War I as well as afterwards for decades thereafter - until it closed operations in 2007 due to financial troubles brought on by increased competition from China and other countries during that time period! Today there are remnants of that company still extant inside what used to be downtownKalamazouPapersmithery! There are also numerous buildings still standing throughout downtownKalazuo including both original mills (the Dortch Paper Mill & Calumet Paper Company) as well as various other contributing structures dating back to that time period! After World War I ended and hostilities ceased across many fronts including Europe/Asia etc., many factories closed or moved out of State lines into different nations due purely to economics reasons such as automation beginning just prior WWI however some remnants like Dortch Paper Company still remain operational till date inside DowntownKalazuo today which is definitely an amazing achievement given all those obstacles!!
