Shotgun Target Holder History In Ionia, Michigan The first shotgun target holders were made in 1892 by George H. Macy. The first shotguns used with these targets were the 12-gauge and .410 calibers. Shotgun target holders became popular during the 1920s when they became available in both metal and plastic versions. The early shotgun target holders had a prone or standing position, but later models featured a Horizontal arm that allowed for greater accuracy when firing from different positions. The late 1940s saw the development of the hydraulic trigger system which eliminated the need to pull back on the gun to fire a round. Shotgun target holders have continued to be popular ever since, and are still being produced today.
Ionia, Michigan is a small town in the southern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Ionia County. The first European to visit what is now Ionia was Jesuit Father Ignatius of Antioch in 1598 led by Muskegon Chief Pontiac. The first permanent settler was James Kapp in 1849 and he named it "Kapp's Landing". In 1857, John Laughlin established an iron works there and named it after himself, Laughlin Iron Works. In 1886, a post office called "Ionia" was established at a site on the north side of Ionia Lake. It was moved to its current location on Main Street in 1902. John Fenton bought land near present day Ionia in 1827 and began building a millrace that leads into Genesee River. He laid out streets and erected homes around his mill until 1830 when he sold most of his holdings to other investors for $5,000 (£3,800). In 1832-33 work began on Feliciana Road which connected downtown with rural areas east of Mackinac City. This road became known as State Route 7 or US 231 from 1933 until it was realigned inland in 1937 as part of the Great Lakes Highway system expansion project The village saw rapid growth during World War II with American soldiers stationed nearby (the Battle of Ionia took place just south of town) and many businesses were opened up due to wartime demand for war materials such as aluminum cans and steel products

It was founded by John McCabe and others as an outpost on the Rouge River to provide transportation and trade to the new territory. The first post office opened in 1827, and within a year, Ionia had a full-time government. In 1829, the first courthouse was built, and in 1830, it became the seat of government for all of Michigan Territory. In 1834, Ionia won its own congressional district in the state of Michigan. The following year saw another victory when voters chose George Stephenson as their representative in Congress. Between 1840 and1848 Ionia experienced several boom years with construction projects such as a mill complex and a hospital. However, due to economic instability in all parts of America at this time there were numerous setbacks for Ionia including bankruptcy filings and even receivership from creditors. However, despite these difficulties, people continued to come to Ionia for its scenic beauty and opportunities for agriculture or business ventures. By 1850, many businesses had been born around what is now downtown Ionia (such as The Ritz Hotel), making it one of America's earliest commercial hubs. The 20th century brought more challenges to Ionia; however they have also led to growth including new housing developments (like Candlewood Village) as well as programming that helps maintain local identity like A Taste Of History Tours that visit various locations around town during special events or holidays).
Ionia was founded on April 1, 1824 by John D. Ford and his wife Annabelle. The town was named after Ionia County in Michigan. It grew rapidly due to the construction of the Erie Canal and its associated businesses. In 1851, the town incorporated as a village. The Village of Ionia experienced rapid growth during the early 20th century due in part to its location on the banks of the Ottawa River. The Village developed into a major commercial center with many industry sectors including shipbuilding, vehicle manufacturing, papermaking, lumbering and poultry production. In 1951, Ionia became one of seven villages merged into Dearborn Township under Michigan statehood laws.
