shooter's history in Inkster, Michigan begins with NRA members and others who gathered at the old H. A. Gorman Shooting Club on January 3, 1892. The club met to shoot at an open field near the corner of Main and John Streets. There were no targets then, only a few stone balls that could be hit from a long way away. On January 10th, 1892, the first IPSC match was held at the H. A. Gorman Shooting Club using small Davidson rifles that could not fire more than about 20 rounds per minute without reloading. It took place over a period of three days and resulted in five winners and nine losers including future President James Buchanan White (1861-1925). On March 5th1892, the first rifle match was held at the Masonic Lodge on Third Street in Inkster when sixty shooters participated from fifteen counties in southeast Michigan including Macomb County (then part of Wayne County) and Miamisburg (now is Grand Rapids). In 1894 Judge George Jernigan organized an IPSC team which played against other teams from different parts of the country at venues such as arenas or ballgames. By 1898 it had spread to forty-eight states with over 1,000 clubs across America competing in Trap shooting events sanctioned by IPSC
Inkster is a small village in Ingham County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,691 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lansing–East Lansing– monster metropolitan area. Inkster was platted on February 10, 1871 by John M. Beyer and James A. Nichols.[2] It became a village on July 1, 1915,[3] when it merger with neighboring Latham Township[4] and Georgian Township.[5][6][7] Inkster is located at (42.869576, -87.627482).[8] According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2 square miles (5 km²), of which 2 square miles (5 km²) is land and 0.30% is water.[9][10] As of the census[11] of 2000, there were 1,551 people, 589 households, and 463 families residing in the village; all were rural homes with no electricity or running water. The population density was 751/sq mi (269/km²). There were 603 housing units at an average density of 291/sq mi (130/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98% White,[12] 0% African American,[13][14], 0% Native American,[15][16][17], and 2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latinoof any race were 3% of the population. There were 589 households out of which 36% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58% were married couples living together, 10% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24% were non-families. 20% of all households were made up of individuals and 8% had someone living alone who was 65 years old or older

Inkster is a town in the Kalamazoo County, Michigan, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lansing– Warren–Dearborn Metropolitan Statistical Area. Inkster's first settler was John Arkwright in 1837. The town was founded on the east side of what is now Inkster Township and remained so until it became a town in 1903. A post office called Inkster existed from 1837 to 1848. The townships of Orleans and Ottawa were organized as Indian Territory when Michigan became a state in October 1830; they were within Ingham County until it was organized into Kalamazoo County on March 10, 1835. The township of Inkster was organized on November 3, 1903, from parts of the townships of Orleans and Ottawa. The community that would become Inkster had its beginnings as an agricultural settlement near present-day Battle Creek Junction on the Old Michigan Central Railroad (now known as Huron River Rd.). Settlement began with simple buildings designed for Muslim immigrants who traveled through that area for trading goods with settlers along the route between Detroit and Grand Rapids. By 1860, there were some eighty homes in what would become Inkster – thirty of them owned or rented by Muslims themselves or their families members . Islamophobia would not be eradicated until after World War II when many American Muslims came back to America to rebuild after being forced out during World War II
