Inkster, Michigan is a small city located in the heart of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The population was 3,814 at the 2010 census and it is part of the Muskegon–Wixom metropolitan area. Inkster has been inhabited by humans since at least 10,000 years ago. In 1803, John Sellers arrived in what is now Inkster with his family from Connecticut. He built himself a house on the east side of Main Street and named it "Sellers". By 1810, there were over 100 residents in Inkster. The first store in Inkster was established by James Fenton in 1836. In 1840, Alexander Graham Bell founded an experimental station here called "Graham's Station" which served as a Testing ground for Bell's Telephone Company. There are several schools located within or near Inkster including: Roberts High School (opened 1909), Payne Elementary (opened 1951), and Central High School (opened 1959). The first grocery store opened in this town in 1913 and remained open until 1978 when it closed due to competition from larger stores opening up around town. One of the most important moments duringINKSTER'S HISTORY was when the United States Post Office moved to its current location on Main Street just north of Market Street on December 6th 1907 after being housed at First National Bank Building on Broadway for 54 years! This move allowed citizens easier access to mail without having to go outside their homes! It also helped improve communication within Inkster as well as between neighboring towns! The MUSKEGON-WIXOM MUNICIPAL AREA had its debut on July 1st 1949 when all five boroughs – Muskegon Heights, East Lansing Township, Westland Township, Grand Rapids Township and Holland – united under one government name: Mackinac County! This new agency helped promote economic development throughout our county while increasing stability through cooperation; something that continues to be strong today! As more people settled into our community over time, they began creating businesses such as law enforcement officers/firefighters/ paramedics/etc., which requires specialized training and equipment that not everyone can easily obtain or afford themselves! Inkster is a town in Washtenaw County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,023 at the 2010 census. Inkster is part of the Grand Rapids Metropolitan Area. It is located on the north shore of Huron Bay and bordered by Ionia to the east and Clinton Township to the west. The Town of Inkster was organized in 1836 as a result of an act of the Michigan General Assembly. The name for what is now Inkster was given to it by Sir John Pemberton when he surveyed the area which includes present-day Inkster Township and several other townships in 1837 while on his way from Mackinac Island to Detroit. In 1840, James Waddell donated land to establish a post office in Inkster which served until 1847 when it moved to Clinton Township because that township had been established as part of Washington Territory after American independence from Great Britain was achieved. Inkster's first store opened in 1848 under manager George Aitken with goods bought from local farmers and merchants along with some items brought overland from Canada by wagon train drivers freighted with goods heading westward via Cassia Lake. By 1870, there were nine stores scattered around town selling everything from groceries to hardware; one grocery alone accounted for more than half of all business during that time period. A fire destroyed most of downtown Inkster on December 14, 1886; however, within hours new businesses had sprung up including a dry goods store (the first such establishment in Michigan) and two shoe stores (one run by John Geddes). In 1890 inksters built their own cemetery following approval by the government due to high mortality rates among frontier settlers due to diseases such as smallpox and measles; this marked an important milestone for the community as until then graves had been used primarily for military veterans buried near Fort Wayne or in nearby villages like Van Buren or Ottawa. During World War II, many residents served aboard Navy vessels docked at Naval Station Traverse City before boarding ships bound for war zones abroad; these individuals are preservationists who have campaigned since the early 2000s for recognition of their wartime service through ceremonies such as memorial plaques and walking tours inside navy shipyards where they once worked

In 1815, George Stephenson found oil shale near present-day Inkster and developed it into a successful business enterprise called Stephenson's Oil Fields. It was not until 1830 that members of the Methodist Episcopal Church founded a church hereunder which would later become known as First United Methodist Episcopal Church (later moved to Grand Rapids). The townspeople have always had an important role in local politics as they voted for both local officials as well as township supervisors. One event which helped solidify their position came when they all gathered around William Lyon Mackenzie when he announced he would run for governor on a platform opposing slavery but instead ran for Congress instead. This action set off a firestorm among many residents who felt they were being left out of decisions made by their elected officials; this led to the formation of the first civic organization in Inkster – the Board of Trustees – which still exists today! Today, Inkster remains an active community with strong ties to its surrounding community and economy; its businesses include several grocery stores and banks as well as various professional services including law enforcement and education
