Swivels were first patented in 1864 in the town of Inkster, Michigan. The invention was made to correct an issue with pistols that would often rotate when being fired. This problem was caused by the guns’ barrels rotating inside the gun's stocks, which created a wobble that allowed rounds to hit other parts of the weapon and cause it to malfunction. To prevent this from happening, swivels were invented to fix the issue. The first type of swivel was designed for shotguns, and it consisted of a metal sleeve that fit around the barrel and rotated 360 degrees. The second type of swivel was designed for handguns and included a screw that could be tightened to fix the swivel in place. After these two types of swivels became popular, they were replaced by 3-part pistolswitches in 1978. These switches featured 2 interchangeable arms that could be controlled using either your hands or a joystick device. Since then, gun manufacturers have continued to develop new types of swivels so that they can improve upon their predecessors. Some examples include Designs 4387 and 4388 which are designed specifically for rifles and shotguns, respectively; Design 4012 which is perfect for revolvers; and even Design 508 which is perfect for handguns!

Inkster is a small city in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, United States. The population was 8,824 at the 2010 census. Inkster is part of the Grand Rapids–Wentworth County Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is located in NW Michigan on the western edge of Traverse City. It begins at the confluence of two creeks, Ink and Foxa, and stretches to its eastern border just east of Eastman Road. The first mention of Inkster was in 1831 when David Thompson called it "Inkster Township". In 1835, John Bigelow established a ferry landing here on Foxa Creek for passengers travelling from Mackinac Island to Detroit. The first post office in Inkster was established on December 17, 1836 by order of territorial governor George Hutton. The name changed to "Inkster" on July 1, 1840 under act of Congress approved July 3 that year establishing Post Offices District No. 4 southward extending into Wayne County and including all or part of present-day Michigan's Lower Peninsula; this included most or all of what are now Macomb County and Cass County within today's Wayne County only postage stamps were issued locally beginning with issue #1 (1868) inksters took their revenge by burning down several businesses owned by rich businessmen during anti-fire drill campaign led by then mayor George Romney in 1870s Nixon Library building (now museum) opened in 1971 as part as community colleges merger project between Central Michigan University (CMU) and Wright State University (WRU). Inkster is a small village in Wayne County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,063 at the 2010 census. Inkster is located on the southern border of Wayne County and is bordered by Muskegon Heights to the east and north, Hillsboro to the west and south, and Grosse Pointe Park to the northwest. It is part of the Lansing–East Lansing Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what would become Inkster were farmers who arrived in 1813 from Wales. They named their community after one of their own countrymen, Isaac Inkster, who had come to America earlier that year as a refugee with his family. In 1824, John Sibley moved into what would become Inkster Township; he helped name it for his fellow Welshman. By 1830, land around present-day Inkster had been claimed by several different families; among them was Daniel Ford's family which acquired much of downtown today's neighborhood including land on which they built their home now known as Ford House (an early example of an Arts and Crafts style house). Inkster became a town in1837 when it was designated as part of Muskegon Township along with Grosse Pointe Park and Hillsboro. That same year saw another change when township trustees decided that "a post office should be established here" so they bought five acres (2 ha) near present day corner store on US 36th Street between Macklin Road and State Avenue for $5 per acre ($= ). In 1846 David Whitcomb set up a stagecoach line between Muskegon Heights and Hicksville running through Inkster along its current route but stopping briefly at White Sands Cemetery before continuing on to Holland Lakes where passengers could disembark for lunch before continued travel onward to Detroit or Marquette where mail would be delivered again later that day A new brick building was erected on Main Street just east ofpresent day Ford House in 1849 which served as both local courthouse (now Gratiot County Courthouse)and Post Office until 1957 when it burned down In 1861 Jesse Latham founded the first bank in what would become Inkster – First National Bank – naming it after himself because he felt banks were necessary for economic development First National Bank closed its doors permanently due largely to lack of customers but spawned subsequent businesses such as Lawndale Tire & Rubber Company Inc., formerly Bedrock Manufacturing Company Incorporated today’s DTE Energy Corporation - which purchased First National assets retired equipment used at First National Bank then leased space back from company shortly thereafter becoming Woodward-Lambert Automotive Corp . also founded by Jesse Latham . finally Henry Mauer opened Mauer’s Bakery since 1954 Atwater’s Chocolate started out grocery store called “The Chocolate Factory” across street from current day Sprague Elementary SchoolDaisy Drive still has her original house next door unchanged since township meeting days over 100 years ago
Inkster is a town in the U.S. state of Michigan, and part of the Kalamazoo-Portage County area. The population was 2,758 at the 2010 census. Inkster is located on the east bank of the Ottawa River, about south of Kalamazoo and west of Battle Creek. It is bordered by Battle Creek to the north, Ottawa Township to the east, Lansing Township to the southeast and Portage County to the southwest. The town formed from all but one block of land in present-day Ottawa Township on November 3, 1837 when a group of settlers led by John Hogg moved from rural Upper Peninsula settlement Gratiot near Cassville towards what would become Inkster after hearing rumors that land there had been given away for development in nearby Lansing Township.
