Inkster, Michigan is a small town located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was once home to a large gun sights business, known as Smith and Wesson. The company had two factories in Inkster and produced firearms for both the military and law enforcement. In 1954, the company merged with Colt Firearms Corporation to form Colt-Arms Industries. Over time, Colt-Arms Industries produced a wide variety of firearms, including handguns, shotguns, rifles, and even artillery pieces. In 2006, Colt-Arms Industries merged with Remington Arms Company to form Remington Outdoor Co., Ltd. Today, Remington Outdoor Co., Ltd. manufactures both hunting and sporting arms under various brand names such as Magnum Research & Technology Inc., Bushmaster FirearmsAmerica Corp., Savage Arms Corporation, Mossberg & Sons Shooting & Hunting Division (now parts of American Outdoor Brands), Tikka Gunworks Inc., CorBon Firearms Corp., Ruger Manufacturing Company LLC (now Ruger Ammunition) and many more. Gun sights have been around since at least the early 1800s when guns were designed specifically for target shooting. At first sight targets were usually fired off at about 100 yards using iron sights which could be adjusted for elevation or heightening brightness according to how close the shooter was relative to the target. As technology improved, firing from longer ranges became possible by usingights which allowed shooters to place their shots on specific points within an image created by moving mirrors or other sighting devices called lenses or reticles. Target turrets typically used either screwdriver type adjustments or finger screws that needed loosening before use so that different adjustments could be made while holding the turret steady with one hand while keeping another hand on top of it to manipulate the barrel wrenches using gravity instead of hands alone

In 1812, a surveyor named John Sennett designed and built the first two gunsights for use with his new harpoon-and-spoon rifle. The other early shooters in Inkster were local farmers who used them to check their shotguns against game animals.

Inkster is a small town in the Michigan counties of Oakland and Macomb. The population was 2,924 at the 2010 census. Inkster is located on the eastern edge of Detroit and is bordered by the cities of Livonia to the north and Sterling Heights to the south. The township covers an area of about 72 square miles. The first settler in Inkster was George Witherow, who arrived in 1827 from Connecticut. Witherow built a cabin near what is now Sleeping Bear Lakes Boulevard. In 1830, Isaac Newton settled nearby, and also founded a gristmill and sawmill. By 1840, there were six families living in Inkster Township; by 1850 there were 12 settlers living there with two stores, a blacksmith shop, a schoolhouse, and a farmstead. In 1875, residents voted to rename their township “Inkster” after John Haldane Finch (1821-1910), one of their founders and one of their most important citizens during its early years. Mr. Finch served as township supervisor for many years before his death in 1910; he was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Inkster Township. The township was annexed by Detroit in 1908; however, it reverted back to its original name until 1965 when it became part of Macomb County under the revised boundaries set forth by state legislation that year following General Motors' consolidation into three companies: GMAC/Chevrolet (formerly American Motors Company/Chrysler), Cargill (now Tyson Foods) Trucking Company/Ford Motor Company truck plants being established within that county as well as other changes throughout Michigan resulting from UAW bargaining power gains during that decade including large areas surroundingDetroit becoming operational while those withinMacomb remained undeveloped or sparsely populated save for some light manufacturing activity taking place here and there among auto parts suppliers etc.). Notwithstanding this history – which has seen various incarnations over time - inkstership continues unabated today serving as both physical connection between communities located withinMacomb County plus economic development opportunities for all members thereof through innovation gleaned from collaborative effort made possible through access theretostheir knowledge base shared across generations since earliest organized residentry engaged therein togetherback then building this community together not just thru informed discussion but active participation wherin common interests & concerns were weighed & discussed nightly leading up 4th of July fireworks celebration each summer

Inkster is a town in Michigantown Township, Oakland County, Michigan, United States. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. Inkster is one of the most populated towns in Oakland County and is home to both the Inkster Volunteer Fire Department and the Inkster High School Tigers football team. The township also includes part of Farmington Hills. The first settler in what is now Inkster was John Hennessey who arrived on July 3, 1807 from Lisbon, Portugal with his family. He named his new land "Inkster" after himself and his family's native country of Ireland. In 1812, another group of settlers called the Carters landed in what is now Inkster and began trading with natives along the Grand River. The Carters were soon followed by others until by 1830 there were over 20 families living in Inkster Township. In 1837, when Michigan became a state, inksters applied for incorporation as a village but were refused because they lacked a full-time post office. A few years later they did get their own post office which opened its doors on November 1st, 1840 (the day before Woodward Avenue). At that time it was known as "Attica". The first postmaster was John Laughlin who served until 1849 when he was succeeded by James Sully. Sully had two daughters - Julia Ann (1841-1914) who married George Waugh (1856-1942), and Anna May (1843-1921) who married John Vail (1846-1924). The first school in Inkster Township was built on Main Street near where present day Park Ave & Ionia Rd meet today from 1847 to 1850 under teacher Mrs Phillipus Denton with 10 students prepping for academic year beginning September 8th。 AfterMrs Denton's death one student took her place and taught for 3 years; then Dr Chauncey Ransom took over for 4 years before quitting due to health concerns about long hours during winter months combined with too much classwork leading up to Christmas break each year……..Dr Ransom finally resigned due to ill health on December 15th 1860….. AfterMr Ransom left Mr Seward became headmaster…. As more children began moving away from rural areas towards larger towns during this time period some parents decided not to send their children to school so they could work all week long instead………….. By 1865 there were only 6 students attending school while most residents worked outside THE INDUSTRY………………………………………………….. Some residents started having trouble getting enough water so they dug an underground well around 1870…………….. During this time many businesses including Hardesty's merchants store moved out of town because of high cost associated with construction/maintenance of infrastructure needed for rapid industrial growth such as roads connecting neighboring communities………………………………………………………. In 1902 Charles Weller opened Weller Hardware store next door which would become one of the largest stores in Detroit started by German immigrants
