Bullets have been a part of the American Armed Forces for over 100 years. Bullet history in Inkster, Michigan began with the first volley of gunfire in the Volunteer State on July 4, 1812 when three volunteer militiamen opened fire on an Indian encampment near Fort Dearborn. The volley killed one Native American and Wm. B. Caldwell, a civilian contractor attached to the army as a musketeer took up the gun and fired two rounds into the air in salute before lowering his weapon and walking away. One man was killed, four were wounded and five were taken prisoner. This was only the beginning of what would be an intense military-civilian relationship between Detroit and Inkster throughOUT THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION! The town of Inkster was founded by General David Walker on November 10, 1814 as part of a drive to extend civilization eastward from Michilimackinac Island across Upper Peninsula waters towards Lake Huron. The town’s establishment signaled an end to frontier life along the upper peninsula where nomadic groups continued to operate independently until Trade& Commerce brought about organized tribes that exchanged goods, services and hostages for land concessions from Native Americans during this time period (See: “Inkster Timeline”). The population of Inkster grew rapidly during its early years due to its location on navigable water routes connecting Michilimackinac Island with Mackinac City on the mainland (See: “Inkster History”). In 1825, after much debate among officials at Kingston Landing west of present-day Royal Oak for control over both trade channels between Mackinac Island and Toronto Bay, General John Overton awarded control of both waterways to Inkster residents following a Battle Of The River Atcks which ended British forces’ attempt to seize control over both crossings during an invasion campaign against United States forces under then-President James Kappes (See: “Inkster Battle history”). In 1828, following construction of new roads through central Michigan by Doniphan & Macomb Counties Roadbuilders Association led by George Stephenson – one of whom later became governor – InkSTER saw its first commercial shipment when Ayer Haggerty shipped timber from Sault Ste Marie via Port Huron arrived at Kingston Landing just after dark on October 2nd aboard HMS Majestic (See: “Inkster Shipments history”). By 1830, inksters had also established themselves as traders with connections throughout Upper Canada; their main partners being Trine Brothers grocery storeowners George Heriot & Alexander Turnbull in Montreal who acted as middlemen between English settlers in northeast Ontario and Lower Canada;and fur buyers living southwest of Georgian Bay who purchased furs from indigenous peoples at Sault Ste Marie de l'Eau du Nord est (See: “Canadian Fur trade history”). As businesses developed within Inkster itself however problems began to arisewith government regulations affecting trade which caused prices for goods exported by citizens or traded through network intermediaries skyrocketing while prices paid by foreigners remained relatively stable; this situation eventually reached such proportions that local merchants formed a group known as The Public Ledger Company in 1840 seeking ways To Regulate Business Practices Within Their Own Townspeople & Merchants Associations Without succumbing To Government regulation which they felt would stifle innovation within their industry. After months of discussion & public hearings resulting in recommendationsadden by Mayor Leland Stanford Sr., memberselectedDavid Czarnecki As President Of The Board Of Directors For The Public Ledger Company On April 3rd 1840 With View To Promoting Improved Business Procedures Which Were Adopted As A Result Of ThatMeetings) . Although initially considered An Attempt At Reform By Local businessmen Thoroughly Aware That Restrictive Regulations Would Cause Continued Disruption And Impediment To Economic Growth Only 8 Years After Its Establishment Became progressively Less Restrictive Legislation Passed By Both Houses Of Congress Prior To Appointment OF Mr.Czarnecki As Presidentresulted In Continued Progress In Promoting Improved Business procedures& Increased Opportunities For Industrial Development.)

The community was originally founded in 1855 by John and Martha inksters. It was named after an Indian village called Inkster on the Washtenaw River which also served as its mailing address. In 1887, the post office moved from Inkster to nearby Ecorse and changed its name to that of the larger community. The first school in Inkster opened in 1872 with eight students. The first teacher was Mrs. Jameson. After two years, the school closed due to lack of funding and reopened under new management with twenty-six students in 1875. A second school was built in 1877 at what is now known as White Hall Road and it operated for six years before being replaced by a high school which opened in 1889 In 1915, the high school became part of Mackinac Community College and has since become one of the largest CC colleges in Michigan . In 1951, Inkster voters passed a referendum approving annexation into Lansing proper along with neighboring Ecorse forming what would eventually become Kalamazoo Township . The annexation created a combined population of over fifty thousand people within just three years . The growth has continued throughout ensuing decades resulting in more than fifteen acres (50,000 m²)of parkland being developed inside or adjacent to downtown Inkster limits alone – making it one of only a handful communities statewide with this type of rapid development . Today, Inkster remains vibrant with active businesses including printing companies and information technology firms ; however , residential development continues apace with plans underway for more than 1 million square feet (100,000 m²)of new housing within downtown boundaries alone by 2020

Inkster is a town in the Michigan Territory, located in Lapeer County. The population was 2,090 at the 2000 census. Inkster is part of the Grand Rapids–Wixom metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what is now Inkster Township was John Purdy, who arrived about 1795. He and his family built a cabin on the east side of current-day Court Street. Purdy was one of many early settlers who came to Inkster from eastern Canada during the 1800s for land opportunities in this new country. Inkster's incorporation as a village occurred in 1837. At that time, it had a population of just seventy-six people. The first post office opened in 1840 and continued until 1895; it was then called "Inksterville". During its history, Inkster has been home to many local businesses and organizations including: The Methodist Episcopal Church (1899), The Agricultural Society (1902), The Odd Fellows Lodge No. 4A (1914), The Lakeside School District (1920), and most notably, the Inksters' own paper mill which manufactured ink cartridges from 1903 until 1967; today known as the Grandma Paper Mill Museum & Library Complex Inc.. In 1951, when Lapeer County became fully separate from Michigan and formed its own government, Inkster lost its status as an incorporated village but retained its name as one of its townships within Lapeer County. However, with growing suburbanization throughout much of rural Michigan over the ensuing decades, Inkster's boundaries gradually shrunk back to their original township form - only becoming an unincorporated community again upon reestablishment of county government following statehood in 1932.) Today's residents are largely involved with their local businesses or community institutions rather than politics or government - something that dates back to when living conditions were more difficult outside city limits where taxes were higher and there were no public transportation options available
