From 1925 until his death in 1971, Mr. Cramer continued to produce unique firearms hats for customers throughout North America including Canada and Mexico City.. The settlement in what is now Holland began as a small military post on land grant from the Indian chiefs Potawatomi and Miamietowne in 1811. It grew rapidly due to its location at the mouth of the Kalamazoo River, which made it an important transportation hub for goods entering and leaving Upper Michigan during the 19th century fur trade era and afterward as an agricultural center producing maize, wheat, chickens, pigs, cattle and other commodities. In 1836, John Stephenson founded Jena & Osage Canal Company with his brother Jameson Stephenson to build a canal connecting Detroit to Lake Huron through present-day Jena and Ionia counties.Mr Stephenson's company purchased from McLaughlin Brothers (later McLaughlin Canals) a patent on a new system of canal construction then known as "the Stephenson System." In 1840 Surgeon General Ft Dearborn recommended that all major canals be built within five years; Stephenson constructed two canals within three years - one between Detroit and Midland City on the Rouge River near Troy Township (now Livingston), west of Saginaw Bay on Shiawassee River north of Orion Township (now Mackinac County), northwest of Stroudsburg (now Mio), east of Hudson Falls along current US 9 northwest from Battle Creek Township (now Muskegon Heights) northeast to Flint Hills beyond present-day Holland village limits southward to Grand Rapids/Lansing

Holland is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, United States. The population was 1,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Wyoming Micropolitan Statistical Area. Holland began as an agricultural village on the east bank of the Muskegon River, in what is now Kent County. The first post office was established in 1837, and by 1851 had a population of 100. In 1868, voters approved a charter for The Holland School District which became one of the earliest districts in Michigan. The community developed around two churches: First Methodist and Dutch Reformed. In 1903, The Holland Daily News was founded and remained privately held until it merged with The Lansing Times in 1978. In 1937, the Dutch Reformed Church burned down; however, another church built to replace it soon stood erect on land that currently houses Bloomfield Hills Elementary School (now part of Midtown Middle). A new high school opened in 1984 adjacent to Central High School; prior to that time there were only junior high/elementary schools serving Holland Township residents. In recent years, Holland has seen residential development along Woodward Avenue near its border with Grand Rapids; this area has also attracted businesses such as Apple Inc.'s headquarters and Ford Motor Company's Dearborn Assembly Plant which are now located within walking distance from most citizens' homes. In addition to its namesake river crossing just north of town on US-24 (the old US Highway 12), major attractions include three golf courses - Ironwood Golf Course off Wabash Road just south of town; Griggs Lakes Country Club northeast corner of town near Saginaw River; and Black Forest Golf & Spa southeast corner north off Haggerty Road between Ionia Heights Drive and Higgins Road - all within minutes' drive either work or play depending upon one's preferences
