Highland Park is a city in Wayne County, Michigan, United States. The population was 20,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area. Highland Park was platted on November 1, 1836 by George H. Atwater and James Purdy, who also founded the village of Highland Park in that same year. The City of Highland Park was established on October 15, 1871 when it detached from the Township of Highland Heights. On July 1, 1907 it annexed into the municipality of Detroit. The first settler in what is now Highland Park was John Sutherlin who purchased land east of present-day Woodward Avenue on June 10, 1837 from Nicholas Longo for $4 per acre (the land became known as Sutherlin's Purchase). In 1840 Samuel Wixom arrived from Connecticut and built a cabin near what is now Gratiot Avenue and Trumbull Street.). On August 6th of that year he sold his interest to Joseph Green which increased to 100 acres (he donated all but 10%). By 1850 there were six houses/cities in operation within 2 miles (3 km) of downtown Detroit with an estimated population over 20 thousand inhabitants. In 1865 Augustus Beecher bought 640 acres (27 km²) overlooking Detroit for $30 per acre ($2 million today). He named his holdings after his two daughters: Alma Beecher Carpenter and Winifred Wright Beecher. The tracts would eventually be divided among various family members until they came together again to form one large parcel along Woodward Avenue in 1901-1902 when their children inherited it all- making them grandparents to new generations living right here today! The development of firearm sights eventually led to the invention of Target Holder Systems (THS) which allowed any rifleman to easily place his/her shots within ½ inch (13 mm) at 100 yards without having to take off their shooting glasses or adjust their rifles accordingly Eventually, TGS became extinct due to changes in firearm design but its legacy lives on in Target Holder Systems continue being produced today

Highland Park is a small town in Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. The population was 2,813 at the 2010 census. It lies on the south side of Muskegon River and is part of the Lansing Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live here wereocus from what is now Latvia and Estonia in 1824. They started a farmstead called "Green Gables" on what is now Highland Park Boulevard. In 1868, they moved to their present location on Blue Hill Road after buying land from the Ottawa Indians for $1 per acre. The town was platted on December 17, 1870 by Elisha Beall with Wm Sibley as surveyor. John Fenton purchased some of the land used for farming and built a home there in 1872-3; he named it Highland Park after his birthplace Highfield, England. This house still stands today and has been restored by Historic Michigan Incorporated as part of its Highland Park Heritage Trail program since 1978. In 1876, the Holland Land Company donated five acres (20 hectares) southeast of where Highland Park now stands to be used as a park for residents and businesses located east of Muskegon River Blvd., north of I-696 exit 244B and west of US-441 exit 21A/Milepost Rd./Highland Park Blvd./US-41 exit 241B/White Cloud Rd./Lake St Clair Dr./Erickson Ave./Hancock Rd./Heinz Ave./Goodyear Rd., which would later become Cadillac Street between US-441 exits 241B/241C/Alanson Ave.) In 1914–15, construction began on Griggs Mill Pond which would eventually become one block south of current day Highland Park Boulevard across from Griggs Junior High School (!). The mill pond became known as "Mill Pond" because it produced flour for local grocery stores until it closed in 1969 when that area's production stopped due to lack of demand or competition from other mills in that area such as Orion Paper Millsowned by billionaire Joseph Mengele Jr.). After years without water access due to protests led by nearby homeowner Crystal Pugh (the only resident who ever made an impact with her actions), Muskegon County government finally connected Griggs Mill Pond's main outlet—now known as East Side Road—to the countywide system through a new pipeline in 2002 just before Thanksgiving Day thanks to donations from several local citizens including then-Governor Jennifer Granholm! In 2006–07, during reconstruction efforts following Hurricane Ike damage done during earlier that year's storm surge, new parts were installed intoEast SideRoadmain outlet so that more water could flow out while reducing flooding risk near homes & businesses currently using Main Street Water Supply just upstream from Mill Pond & within easy walking distance both ways! Highlands also got its name because early settlers experienced difficulty finding enough wood to heat their homes during bitter cold winter months despite being able to get charcoal firewood elsewhere closeby (e.g., White Cloud Lake). So instead they cooked over open fires which sometimes resulted in Hearth’s Larder building being built right next doorstill standing today!). Eventually this practice turned into “hiking” up around highbush trees near our current downtown core since there wasn’t any available woods closerbyabouts 3 miles away) . Today you can still find Original Tracks leading up these highbush trails about 1 mile beyond downtown! Highlands was originally planned as an agricultural community but much like many villages throughoutMuskEGon County at this time development centered around industry (steelmaking starting c 1910s etc.)& transportation so lots more labor was needed than agriculture too so many roads were constructed doing things like connecting farms with towns etc.. But even though industrial growth ended soon afterwardsmany people kept moving here because there were always opportunities for work here unlike other places :)
Highland Park was first settled in 1836 and became a municipality in 1858. The town of Highland Park was named for the highlands that lay to the east of it. In 1893, the area around Highland Park became part of the City of Detroit, which merged with other municipalities on December 1, 1896.
