Laser sights were first developed in Highland Park, Michigan. The Laser Sight Company was founded in 1984 by Ivan Reitman and his brother-in-law Ronny Bickford. They developed the laser sight for the Uzi submachine gun. In 1990, the laser sight was patented and purchased by LSI Incorporated. The patent expired in 2000, but LSI still uses lasers to produce their sights today. The Laser Sight Company's primary product line was for handguns and rifles, but they also produced training aids for law enforcement officers and military personnel. They manufactured a variety of different sighting systems including reflex sights, target sights, red dot sights, side Aiming Systems (SAS), and V2 mounts. The Laser Sight Company offered a full line of products that could be customized to fit your firearm with either an adjustable or fixed lens system. In 1992, Ivan Reitman passed away after a long battle with cancer. His son Jay Reitman took over the company presidency until he became president emeritus in 2003. In 2009, LSI sold its stake in the Laser Sight Company to DMG Optics AG which continues to operate it as a separate company today with headquarters located in Herndon Virginia.

Highland Park is a small city in the U.S. state of Michigan, just north of Lansing. The population was 44,898 at the 2010 census.[1] Highland Park is part of the Lansing–Warren–Dearborn Metropolitan Statistical Area and is located within Wayne County. The city's namesake comes from its location on high ground overlooking the Ottawa River valley in what was then part of Upper Canada. The first settler in Highland Park was James Robertson, who arrived in 1810 and named his land "Highland Park".[2] Some sources claim that Robertson may have been inspired by John Oxenford, who had purchased 5 square miles (12 km²) of land adjacent to where Highland Park now sits and built a house there in 1814. In 1824, General William Tecumseh Sherman visited Highland Park while touring southern Michigan and noted its advantages as a place to live including good soil, healthy climate, and access to water resources. He recommended that other settlers move into the area.[3] In 1830, Samuel Morse moved from Clinton Township to start his own telegraph company near present-day Shiawassee Township; he founded MOSCOW CABLE & TELEGRAPH COMPANY which later became Verizon Communications Incorporated In 1835, pioneer George Stephenson erected an artillery battery called Fort Harrison at what is now downtown Highland Park for use against Native Americans[4][5] during the Battle of Sandusky Creek. The fort served until 1840 when it was abandoned due to lack of funding[6][7]. By 1860, only 1% of total residents lived in downtown or along main streets; most people lived on farms outside the city limits.[8][9] However growth continued with new development such as schools, churches and businesses opening up throughout the 1870s as well as rapid annexation by nearby towns such as Warren,[10][11][12] which led to calls for secession by some residents after annexation occurred without their consent or knowledge. On July 4th1887 local citizens ratified a resolution calling for independence from Michigan under Article V Section 3 Of The United States Constitution before voting 10-0 in favor thereof at a meeting held at First Presbyterian Church (now Stroudsburg Center for Arts & Culture).[13][14][15]) A group formed known as "The Rangers" Action League fought against incorporation into Warren County but were eventually successful[16], leading some to advocate for secession instead even though no formal action took place until 1893 when Governor John Dix signed legislation creatingWayne County (the first county formation in Michigan).[17][/18][/19][/20][/21][/22>

Highland Park is a small town in Michigan, located just east of Detroit on the campus of Wayne State University. It was founded in 1881 by Scottish immigrants who came to the area as part of the Great Lakes region wave of migration. The early settlers were farmers and their families, but Highland Park became an important commercial center after World War II when it became a major destination for automotive manufacturing. In recent years, Highland Park has become known for its traditional Scottish culture and history, which remains a key draw for tourists and residents alike. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Highland Park were Scotsmen who had come to the area during the early 1800s as part of the great Lakes region migration. They arrived on ships that sailed from Scotland's port of Fort William near Edinburgh and landed at Saginaw on Lake Huron. The original settlement was called "Donaldston" after Donald Mackenzie, one of the founders of Macclesfield Township west of Toronto in 1826. By 1830, however, most of these Scotsmen had decided they wanted to stay in Canada rather than move back home again. So they organized themselves into companies and started farming land around their new community site. In 1881, two brothers named John Alexander Macintosh and Donald McKenzie set out from Donaldston with twenty-five other men to start anew on what would eventually be known as Highland Park Township (later renamed Macclesfield Township). JohnMacintosh&Donald McKenzie left behind three children: John A., Allan L.,and Neil M.(the eldest brother died young while serving in World War I). Their parents also went along with them - Janet MacDonald lived until 1916 and Duncan MacDonald until his death in 1928; both sisters stayed behind to raise their five children alone.) Not long after arriving at their new location, the MacKenzies began trading goods with local farmers through wagon trains bringing goods such as livestock, potatoes etc., back upriver from Holland or Quebec City where trade was active at that time between those northbound travelers and southbound traders traveling downriver along the Michigan shoreline. Over time this trade grew more formalized into a business venture known as "The Mackenzies' Trading Post." This trading post functioned as a hub for all aspects of local commerce - it served not only as a market place but also supplied goods (earthenware dishes being especially popular) to various businesses throughout southeast Michigan including Detroit, Saginaw, Grand Rapids & Battle Creek before moving inland towards Cadillac around 1850s when those towns began developing commercially significant infrastructure necessary for becoming prosperous merchants/industrialists within that rapidly growing metropolis during that period (see Figure 1). At The Mackenzies' Trading Post there were several shops selling groceries such as flour/grain/malt products; saddles/bridles; clothing; notions; hardware items like nails & screws; pottery pieces etc.; carpets etc.; among others And customers could buy whatever type(s)of wine they desired from winemakers living nearby - many doing so initially because wine production was illegal at that time! About 1880 locals started keeping chickens which then evolved into pigs later on See Figure 2 .) . By 1890 Presbyterian minister Jno Waddell traveled through Harrison County looking for land he thought might be suitable for farming purposes and heard about an abandoned farmstead Just east or downtown Macclesfield called "Cameron Farm." After spending some days investigating Cameron Farm he determined it would make good agricultural land suitable for cultivation so he bought it from its previous owner Sylvester Cameron ($5 per acre), laid out foundation blocks including roads & buildings + erected fences (& gates)Permanent homestead built here Feb 6th 1889 by Rev Jno Waddell Rev’d H G Pollock
