Throughout its history, the company has been involved in many different industries including ammunition production, car manufacturing and agricultural products. Today, Kapp Firearms Corporation is a part of Smith & Wesson Holding Incorporated.

The first European to visit what is now Hazel Park was John James Audubon in 1837, who named it for his friend and mentor General David Wilkinson. A post office called "Hazel Park" was established in 1839, and remained in operation until it was replaced by Ann Arbor in 1906. In 1881, General Motors opened a manufacturing plant in what is now Hazel Park; this led to growth within the city limits as other companies began to establish themselves there. In 1937, when Cadillac became GM's primary automotive manufacturer outside of Detroit, they built their first factory outside of North America - Cadillac's Canadian headquarters were located here until 1979). The city has since become one of its principal economic engines with many heavy industry plants shuttered or moved out over time: these include Ford Motor Company's Rouge Valley Truck Plant from 1945-1971; Alcoa's smelting operations at Carpenter Township beginning in 1939; and American Canals' former Willowbrook Racetrack complex later converted into an industrial park which included various factories including Chrysler/Plymouth Development Co., Ford Pinto Division (later known as Landis Communications), Hormagrove Paper Products Inc., among others before being purchased by BASF AG in 2006. Today all that remains are a few stands near Interstate 875 across from Gratiot University campus housing BASF AG's research laboratories; all other buildings have been demolished or turned into component lots for development purposes such as housing or commercial uses."

Hazel Park is a village in Washtenaw County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area. The Village of Hazel Park was organized on November 3, 1881 and became a city on December 15, 1907. The first settlers to what would become Hazel Park were farmers who arrived in 1835 from Connecticut. They built their initial homes near what is now Old Hickory Boulevard and Northfield Road. By 1840 they had founded the town of Hanover Township because they wanted more space to raise crops and raise livestock. However, when a post office was established in Hazel Park in 1842 it failed to take off and so they abandoned their township home for good and began setting up homes east of present-day Michigan Avenue near Schoolcraft Road. In 1865 Isaac Whitney founded the Whitney Manufacturing Company which manufactured cotton goods for US Railroads out of his home on Grand River Avenue in downtown Hazel Park. This company attracted other industrialists with its innovative products such as an automatic fire extinguisher that could be used like a teapot by turning it upside down; this allowed companies such as General Electric to establish plants adjacent to him along Grand River Avenue where water can be heated before delivery for use without having to go through smoke stacks or open fires (this technology would later also be developed into air conditioning systems). In 1905 he sold his interest in the company and moved away from downtown Hazel Park to an upscale development called "The Oaks" just east of Woodward Avenue which became known as "the City Club". He passed away there in 1922 but left behind many descendants who continue operations today including several universities across America including Wayne State University (in Detroit), Rice University (Houston) and Occidental College (Los Angeles). During World War II HazelPark played host to major military officials including Commanding General George C Marshall who came here during World War II's Victory Parade on November 10th 1945 - one week after Battle Creek Military Airport reopened following bombings that destroyed most buildings within blocks of it just weeks earlier! In 1948 development started anew with plans for 1 million square feet being developed with housing, retail stores, office space, etc., however due largely to political correctness Progressives shut down any redevelopment until well into the 1970s – leaving only small businesses operating side by side against high-rise apartment complexes that have since taken over much of what once lay within blocks of both schools/mallandian neighborhoods Grew apart until relatively little remains south-west of Woodward Ave between Kfercy Rd & Ionia Rd while much has been built northward replacing everything close thereto
Hazel Park dates back to 1837 as a small community on the east side of Detroit. The town was named after the Hazel tree, which grew in abundance near the community. In 1853, the first post office in Hazel Park was established. By 1865, there were five businesses in Hazel Park and over 50 residents. The town's population ballooned due to the influx of workers from nearby Detroit during the late 1800s construction boom. In 1907, a new library was built in Hazel Park and served as the nucleus for what would become today's public library system. In 1927, a movie theater was constructed in Hazel Park and became one of Michigan's leading movie theaters until it closed its doors in 1969. The town also hosted an annual ice cream festival from 1951-1969 that drew hundreds of people to its streetside stands. In 1984, Hazel Park merged with neighboring Belden Township to form one large municipality known today as Dearborn Heights.
