They were responsible for starting the first gun magazine in town and also developing the first firearm safety device in America. The magazine was called The Rifleman and it became very popular among local residents. In 1911, The Rifleman moved to its current location on Third Street SW. It was here that they began publishing their own magazines which continued to be popular until 1917 when they merged with another journal, The Independent (now known as Guns & Ammo). This merger created what is now known as Gun Digest Corporation. Gun Digest took over operations of The Rifleman from 1917-1924 and published their magazines until 1949 when they were bought by American Arms Corporation who then sold them back to Gun Digest Corporation again in 1957. From 1957-1985 American Arms Corporation published their magazines under the name “Guns Illustrated” before selling them to competing publisher Stoeger Publishing which continued publication until 1988 when they were purchased by Hearst Magazines Incorporated. It should be noted that even though American Arms Corporation published their magazines under several different names throughout these years, all of them eventually ended up being folded into Gun Digest Corporation once again in 1989 when Hearst Magazines Incorporated acquired Stoeger Publishing Company. During this time periodAmerican Arms Corp also produced several televised programs about firearms including a show called “The Shooting Gallery” which aired on CBS from 1951-1957 and again from 1965-1968; as well as an annual championship shooting event called the World Outdoor Show which took place at various venues around the country between 1955-1975 inclusive] In total, American Arms Corp published over 100 issues of their magazines between 1951-1988 inclusive]. This paper will not cover all aspects of gun mag history but will focus on just one specific edition: The Rifleman/Guns Illustrated Edition which originated back in 1911!
There are many types of magazines for handguns, rifles, shotguns and other firearms. Magazines vary in capacity from a few rounds to hundreds of rounds. They come in both semiautomatic and automatic modes. Magazine capacity is also determined by the type of firearm it holds. Keep your hand close to your shoulder while feeding so you don’t inadvertently let go of the armament while loading; once loaded, pull down on either end of the magwell handle until it locks into place (it should now look like this: 2) Load another cartridge into chamber 3) Disconnect safety catch 4) Push forward and hold against ejection port on top cover – note: If release button has been depressed during cycling process please press again soon afterwards! 5) Depress trigger (holding trigger finger parallel with bore axis) and observe safeFirearm function
Grand Rapids had a gun mag community before there was a firearm community. There were several gun mags in the city starting in the late 1800s. One of the first gun mags in Grand Rapids was The Golden Arrows, which started publication in 1892. The paper was published by local businessmen and friends of editor John Saylor. In 1903, The Daily Northwestern also began publication in Grand Rapids, and both papers shared an ownership team until 1912 when The Daily Northwestern became independent. In 1913, The Golden Arrow merged with another local paper, The Republican, to become the first statewide daily newspaper in Michigan with aGun magazine as its main focus. The Gun Magazines Association (GMA) was formed that year to keep track of publications that featured firearms on their cover stories or within the pages of their magazines. By 1922, there were 10 publications affiliated with GMA across Michigan. In 1934-35, GMA merged with American Firearms Retailers Association (AFRA) to form the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

The history of gun magazines begins with early American muzzleloaders, which were designed to be fired from long barrels using black powder and ball ammunition. Muzzleloading rifles and shotguns first came into existence in the mid-18th century. These guns used shot filled with animal fat or wax instead of powder and ball ammunition. Muzzleloading rifles became popular after British soldiers began using them during the Seven Years’ War (1754-1763). The British military used muzzle loading rifles to fire balls of lead and iron at enemy soldiers on horseback, which caused great damage and casualties because lead bullets were difficult for infantrymen to hit targets at close range. Muzzleloading shotguns began being developed in the early 19th century. Shotguns were originally designed as weapons that could be fired from longbows, which was an old type of bow that had a longerbowstring than a modern rifle or shotgun therefore creating more power needed to fire these projectiles accurately. In 1847, John Brownell patented his own design for what would become known as the Brownell Gun; this gun consisted of a metal frame with an adjustable stock that allowed it to be fired from any direction without having its accuracy impaired by windage or elevation changes. At about this time, other inventors also started developing designs for guns that could be fired from bows or even pistols usingShotgun Ballistics Technology (SBT). In 1865, John Moses Browning patented his own design for what would become known as the .410 caliber shotgun; this gun consisted of a tube supporting two stocks carrying pellets which wasfired through a breech opening located near the backstrap along with explosive rounds used for hunting game such as deer and turkey
