All these events are followed up by fall Festivals such as Harvest Festival (). In addition to its rich cultural heritage dating back centuries-researchers have found evidence that humans were living near present-day Garden City around 8500 BC-the earliest settlement being near present day Harbor Beach-local businesses have been promoting tours of various sites throughout town so visitors can get a feel for what life was like back when things were more rural. Tours typically last 2 hours with stops at various shops and restaurants along the way! Some highlights include taking a tour through Fort Mackinac Island during Seasonal Adventures weekdays starting late May thru early September ($10 per person) where you'll learn about Native American history including burial sites & artifacts discovered along with exercises related to Foraging skills (!); walking toursof some ancient buildings located just outside town center every Saturday morning starting late May thru early September ($5 per person) while supplies last.; going out into Ada County for horseback riding during Open Range Days weekend days starting mid April thru mid October ($10 per hour).
