Fraser, Michigan is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is located in Washtenaw County and has a population of just over 1,000 people. The village was founded in 1881 by Scottish settlers and named after General Sir John Fraser who had died in 1876. The history of Fraser began with the construction of the first post office here in 1881. The village grew rapidly due to its location close to the newly developed transportation infrastructure which made it easy for settlers to get goods and services to their villages. In 1907, Fraser became a city and quickly regained its status as a major center for trade and commerce within the area. Today, Fraser remains an important community with its own grocery store, library, theatre, police department, and many other public services. Its economy is based on agriculture, manufacturing, retail sales, services sector (including health care), and tourism.

In Fraser, Michigan, the history of the town dates back to 1837. In that year, a group of settlers arrived on the banks of the Lapeer River, and began to build a log cabin. The first recorded mention of Fraser occurred in 1838 when it was named after Captain John Fraser who had been surveyor for the government in Ottawa. At that time, there were no settlements within modern-day Fraser County and only a few scattered farms. However, by 1850, there were over fifty people living in what is now known as the town. By 1860, there were still no schools or churches in town; however, citizens erected a small schoolhouse using materials they won from lottery tickets. This building served as an elementary school until 1903 when it was replaced with a larger one. It would be another thirty years before any commercial development took place in town; however, due to its strategic location and easy access to transportation (via railroad), Fraser quickly grew into one of the most important agricultural communities in Michigan. Fraser's early years were difficult due to lack of resources and numerous challenges faced by those who lived here. For example, during World War II many residents helped contribute goods and services needed by their local military campaign; however, they did not receive any compensation for this service- which resulted in some friction between these community members and government officials. Additionally, during this time period many residents made their homes out of logs because lumber was hard to come by outside of Detroit area at that time. Despite these challenges though., life continued relatively unchanged for much ofbpMM century until 1985 when an event happened which has forever changed Fraser's character: TheBattleoftheLapeer RiverTheBattleof1885。 This event is generally considered to be one of America's most dramatic conflicts involving land ownership between Native American tribes and white settlers dating back over two centuries; therefore it has played an important role both historically and nationally today. As part of efforts led by Ulysses S Grant during his presidency (1865-68), federal troops invaded Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) intent on extinguishing all Native American tribal rights theretofore held by various groups including the Potawatomi Nation and Chippewa Tribe near present day Fort Snelling). During this battle large numbers of natives were killed or captured including several hundred warriors from both sides involved; consequently Frasers' name became associated with heroism rather than hardship throughout much subsequent history books about this pivotal conflict(). Consequently continuing violence ensuing from this skirmish led authorities at last resort--and finally federal troops--to order all civilians within three miles radius must leave immediately pursuant to law No 675 dated October 20th 1865 (). Aftermath: Many houses remain standing reminders that once thriving small towns like Frasers vanished overnight due largely to contact with surrounding rural areas which often had more resources available. Furthermore many people who resided here prior to1985 are still living independently –albeit unable fully rebuild their lives – thanks largely to family ties remaining strong despite long separations
Fraser, Michigan is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The population was 1,895 at the 2000 census. The name Fraser comes from the Creek word "Fremont." The first settlers in what is now Fraser were Methodist Episcopal missionaries who came to this area in 1848. They named their community after James Fraser, a Scottish explorer and fur trader who had visited this region in 1827.
