Gun cleaning history in Fraser, Michigan began with the arrival of white settlers in the area in the 1830s. The first firearms were brought overland from Illinois and Indiana. In 1848, a gunsmith named John Ritchie opened his shop on School Street in Fraser. He began to make and sell firearms, including pistols and rifles. In 1854, he opened a second shop on West Main Street. This store was known as the Ritchie Arms Company. In 1861, George Armstrong opened his own store on Main Street in Fraser. He became one of the leading manufacturers of shotguns and rifle ammunition in Michigan. His shop also served as a post office and depot for mail transportation between Detroit and Howell County. In 1865, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in Maryland; this event led to an increase in gun-related crime throughout Michigan because many people were fearful of handguns that had been purchased with money that had been taken from Confederate soldiers killed during the Civil War. By 1875, most firearm production had stopped due to economic reasons; however, some businesses continue to operate until today including: The Ritchie Arms Company (now closed), Armstrong Firearms Company (now defunct), The Grosse Pointe Gunsmithy Shop (closed since 2003), The Rifle Workshops (closed since 2002) and The Gunnery Supply Store (closed since 2001).

Fraser, Michigan is a small town located in the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is bordered by Huron County to the south and east, Lapeer County to the north, and Calumet County to the west. The population was 5,611 at the 2010 census. The community is named after General Sir John Fraser who fought in the American Revolutionary War. The first settler in Fraser was James Macdonald who came from Scotland in 1823. He developed a store and farm near present-day Fraser with his family. In 1827, he married Mary Forbes of Aberdeen, Scotland. They had two children: Donald and Agnes. Macdonald died in 1830 and his wife took over running their business until her death in 1869. In 1836, Angus Sinclair purchased 240 acres of land east of town from Macdonald for $255 cash and 10 negroes. He built a cabin on this tract which he called Sinclair's Run or Sinclairs' Farmstead. Sinclair operated a sawmill there for many years until it was destroyed by fire in 1865; however, it still stands as one of the most impressive examples of frontier architecture remaining in Fraser today. In 1840s Alexander Graham Bell arrived at Fraser from Ontario with his father Robert Bell Sr., who ran a grocery store nearby on Dearborn Street (now Grosse Pointe Woods Boulevard). When young Alexander became interestedin scientific curiosity, he attended school here while also working on his chores around home (such as making pottery) so that he could study under his father’s guidance at night without having to worry about being disturbed or hampered by adults! After high school finishes bell went on to attend Western Michigan University where he earned an LLB degree before moving back home to start again with just $5 dollars per week when he started practicing law! This demonstrates how education could not only help people become successful but also give them opportunities they may have never known were available outside their homes! In 1860s John Prentice bought 1/4 acre next door from Angus Sinclair for $35 cash plus 4 oxen for transportation costs; this property would later be renamed Prentice Heights after him (John Prentice served as Mayor of Fraser from 1966-1976). Here too pioneer spirit kept alive through hard work and thrifty living – early farmers used manure left behind by other settlers as fertilizer which helped create what are now some very large gardens today! In 1861 Prentice married Sarah Jane Auld (she was born about 1792 within 2 miles of where she later lived), daughter of Scottish farmer Allan Auld whose land lay just east & southwest OFPERSION OF Frasers village limits - boundaries then being mainly rolling prairies extending northward along Lake Superior toward Marquette & Mackinac City Limits forming LLC territorieswest OFPERSION). Their son Gordon joined them three years later when they acquired additional tracts northwest & northeast Ofpersion +/- boundary lines then changing hands + sold adjacent holdings back+2 more parcels added during residency period +/- boundary changes resulting finally IN 1976 Frasers Village limits expanded Westward 3X reaching current borders w/intersection of I-94W & freeways serving both villages

Fremont, Michigan is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Oakland County. The population was 73,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit–Warren–Dearborn Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fremont has been inhabited by Native Americans for over two thousand years and first appeared on maps in 1795 as a village called Fort Gratiot. The name may derive from "freetown," an English corruption of Latin fortis (meaning strong). In 1803, General James Kapp led a military expedition against Chief Black Hawk's band of Pemiscot Indians in what is now Fremont Township. After reaching their village at Onaway Lake, Kapp burned it to destroy any evidence that they had been there. In 1807, during the Mexican–American War, Fremont was part of outbreaks of violence throughout western Michigan that eventually led to Battle Creek Massacre. The town was platted in 1837 by John Greenleaf Whittier as Arenac Village after purchasing land from the adjacent Arenac River area where he built his cotton plantation. The first post office was established in Arenac Village on July 1, 1837; it operated until 1840 when it moved to Dearborn City under new postal legislation passed by Congress following its passage upon ratification of the United States Constitution. Fremont grew rapidly due to its location at one end of a long water route connecting Detroit with Buffalo and other ports on Lake Erie through Marquette and Superior counties; this trade drew thousands of immigrants who founded businesses and populated Fremont's neighborhoods throughout its early history.
