In 1937–38 construction began on what would eventually become Kirkpatrick Hall State Park near present-day Fenton Township Road 2145N/2414W map coordinates (42°28′25″N; 85°15′27″W). The park was named after John A. Kirkpatrick Sr., one of the original settlers in what would become Fenton and one who donated land for the park.) In 1951–52 work began on enlarging Interstate 495 from I-96 north to intersect US 31 west just south of present-day Fenton Township Road 2145N/2414W map coordinates (42°29′09″N; 85°16′26″W). To honor Mr. Kirkpatrick's contributions to both parks - both large and small - I-495 was rechristened John A."A."Kirkpatrick Memorial Freeway" in recognition of his donation as well as his service toMuskegon Heights through leadership roles with local organizations including government affairs committee member for many years before he passed away in 2002 at age 90 years old) In 1966 – 67 an experimental Rural Electrification Administration power line mainline crossed under Kemptown Road just east ofpresent day Kemptown Township boundaries into newly formed Muskegon Heights Township Lots 7 & 8 NW off limits RMA Rd 548 WNW connecting Iroquois Falls Power Plant with Flint Edison Electric Cooperative Company providing reliable electricity to residents rather than relying solely upon unreliable natural gas or kerosene supplies - making this also one of very few instances where such an interconnections were made without prior consent by all involved municipalities

Additionally, one protest resulted in an increase in property values around town due to outraged citizens’ inability or unwillingness to sell properties they didn’t even live on immediatley following 9/11/2001 – effectively keeping much-needed revenue flowing into town coffers during difficult times
