AGW operated as a single entity until 1942 when it merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Corporation (WRAC) to form Winchester-Hornet Corporation (WHC). WHC continued to operate as an independentlyowned firearms company until 1986 when it purchased Remington Arms Company’s firearms division for $1 billion dollars making it one of America's largest firearms companies ever. During World War II AGW produced over 1 million rifles, shotguns, pistols and revolvers for military use throughout the United States including production runs at plants in Dearborn Heights, Pontiac Township, Royal Oak and Eastpointe. In 1945 AGW produced ammunition for the atomic bomb tests conducted bythe United States at Bikini Atoll using facilities located adjacent to their Pontiac Township plant.. During World War II there were also three separate plants devoted solely to firearm production: One in Royal Oak housing 2181 guns; another near Pontiac Township housing 5500 guns; while still another plant producing assault rifles and machineguns was located just outside of Eastpointe serving both GMC truck models as well as Ford cars.. All these plants were closed down during the postwar years except for WRAC which continued operations until 1986 when it merged with Remington Arms Company's firearms division making them one of America's largest firearms companies ever

Eastpointe is a town in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The population was 34,851 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lansing-Emmett-Farmington (Leflore) Micropolitan Statistical Area. The land that now makes up Eastpointe was first inhabited by the Ottawa and Chippewa nations. In 1814, General Wayne's Expedition discovered the area and claimed it for the United States. The town of Eastpointe was founded on July 10, 1835 by James A. Beall with other early settlement sites including Hudson Heights, Richland Township and Van Dyke Township. At its peak in 1860, Eastpointe had a population of over 100 people. However, by 1870 most of the town had been destroyed by fire; only about 20 people remained living in Eastpointe when it incorporation took place on November 2 that year as a village under the name "East Point". The original village core consisted of a small number of homes around what is now First Street and Central Avenue; these were replaced by larger buildings between 1892 and 1907 according to historical records. One contributing building from this time period is still standing: Beall's Store which stands at 513 First Street today. In 1916, during World War I, many residents left to join military service because they saw war as an opportunity to make money and send their children into college rather than stay home to help feed families or raise livestock; however, most returned home after hostilities ended in 1918. During World War II much of what remains today within the limits of present-dayEastPointe was used as airfields for strategic bomber training operations out near Grand Rapids; however all but one runway remain extant today thanks to renovations completed in 2006/2007 #48 Main St has also been restored with new windows & doors enhancing access for pedestrians

Eastpointe is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, with a population of over 146,000 as of 2015. It is the county seat for Oakland County and home to Eastpointe Township and several other villages. The City of Eastpointe was founded on December 31, 1871 by Captain James Whetstone and his family from New York City after they vacated their previous home, the Old Canfield House in Detroit. The first settler in what became Eastpointe was Job Wickersham, who arrived on April 3, 1872. By 1875 there were fourteen families living in what would become Easttown Square area of the city center; these included John Larkin (a farmer), Samuel Morse (a tailor), James Whetstone (a carpenter), Hiram Swayne (an optician) and others who had immigrated either north or eastward during that year's MSF land sales program which aimed to encourage settlement throughout Michigan by blacks and others underrepresented in white society. In 1876 the first post office was established at what is now known as Main Street; it served only residents of Easttown Square. The following year an act were passed making it an incorporated town with its own board of trustees; this action followed a referendum held that same year in which 54% of those voting approved incorporation into the new town pursuant to a resolution passed by the Assemblies Of The Village Of Detroit-Clinton Township Executive Committee on October 25th, 1865 after viewing petitioners' affidavits stating "that there are many people here without homes who are much distressed because they cannot get enough bread to eat." On February 14th1877 three men- George Brewer, Abram Ford and Daniel Sprague- set out from Detroit along State Road 2 near present day Midland Avenue for what would be their final journey west; they had come specifically looking for land within Eastern Michigan Territory that they could purchase just outside Lansingburgh where they eventually located themselves on November 11th at what is now known as Sprague Creek Park off Greenbush Road just south of I-94 exit 9A while still within Wayne County boundaries Erie Canal Company laid out lots between Brush Road (now Fenton Avenue) north to White Marsh then east including part of present day Springbrook Cemetery southwest corner originally belonging to David Snyder across Brush Rd., also part occupied by milling company lots adjoining Springbrook Cemetery Lot #2formerly belonging to Chas Englishn & Bros., laterowned by Hemanus Haslip lot #2 formerlyowned by Julius Kapp lot #9 formerlyowned by Geo Wayman lot #1 formerlyownedby Nicholas Grosseman In 1895 Lots 7 thru 12 became part of eastern boundary line between Oakland County & Clinton Township
