There are many reasons why people choose to carry a gun. Some people may feel that it is a necessary evil in their lives, while others may have personal reasons for carrying one. Gun pouches are one of the oldest forms of carrying a firearm and were designed specifically for handguns. Pistol pouches continued to be popular among law enforcement officials into the 1940s when more bulky weapons began becoming available such as revolvers (.357 Magnum) and .45ACP pistols (Fowler). During World War II, pistol pouches became popular among American troops stationed in Europe because they could easily fit a rifle or machinegun inside them (Wang 1982). However, these bags eventually became too large to be worn comfortably inside uniforms so soldiers started using shipping containers as their personal firearms carriers instead (Goudreau-Lopez et al.). Pistol pouches continued to be popular among American servicemen throughout the postwar decades until they fell out of favor entirely during the 1970s due to changing societal norms regarding gun ownership (Bourke et al.). East Grand Rapids, Michigan is a city located in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 53,869 at the 2010 census, making it the ninth-largest city in Michigan and the fifteenth-most populous city in the United States. However this push towards metropolitan areas did not always lead to increased employment ordensity either outside or inside Metropolitan Detroit although this has been shown through recent research (Hawkins 2013).Detroit offers a more detailed example because it underwent two types of urban sprawl: inner-city suburban migration which took place during World War II while housing costs soaring prices drove out many working class residents while new immigrant groups such as Koreans replaced those who left (Korean American Leaders 1979) resulting in riots in 1967 called 'The Great Migration'.
