Weisenheimer to provide a place for citizens to shoot pistols at targets. The Target Hanger was eventually replaced by a new structure in 1926, which became known as the “Old Shooting Hall”. The Old Shooting Hall served as the home of the local amateur shotgun and rifle club until it closed in 1970. In 1984, a new complex was constructed on the original site of the Old Shooting Hall, which is now known as the “Coldwater Rifle Range”. The Coldwater Rifle Range has been used for training purposes since its construction and currently boasts an extensive array of targets, including various types of rifles and handguns.
Coldwater is a town in Livingston County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. The name "Coldwater" is derived from the Dutch word "koud water", meaning cold water. The first white settlers in what is now Coldwater were John and Esther Harker who arrived in 1837. In 1851, John Czaplewski settled in what is now Coldwater and started to grow corn. In 1862, George Wiegand built a mill on the right bank of the Big Wash River which became the largest flour mill in Michigan. The post office was established at Coldwater on December 12, 1857, and remained in operation until it was discontinued on May 15, 1916. A paper mill was built along the Big Wash River by Abram Hammond in 1903-04; it closed due to low demand for paper products after World War I. In 1909-10 Clifford Jorgensen opened a store at 3rd Street and Main Avenue which became known as Jorgensen's Department Store. It continued to operate until it closed its doors for good on October 25, 1941. In 1951-52 Floyd Ladd opened a feed company located at 411 Saginaw Road with his wife Lois Ladd becoming the first female manager of a grocery store in Michigan when she opened her store at that location on October 10th of that year.. In 1957-58 Gary Papp filed an application for city status with the state of Michigan but no action was taken until 1969 when he obtained incorporation as a village within Livingston County under the name Coldwater Village Incorporated.. On November 6th of that year City Hall announced that they would be granting incorporation to Coldwater Village effective immediately.. After much deliberation City Hall decided against granting incorporation to Coldwater Village because they felt that it would not have been beneficial to either party and there would have been too few resources available to support both functions simultaneously.. The community has seen many changes over time including: large investments made into infrastructure such as new roads, sidewalks and parks; growth in nearby businesses such as convenience stores (now called Walmart) which attract shoppers throughout much of Northwest Michigan; more recent immigrants who bring their own culture and cuisine which can be found through food festivals held every summer;; growth within agricultural sectors; major expansions within education as well as health care facilities bringing jobs/careers directly into town; rapid population growth resulting from baby boomers retiring or moving out of area towns into larger homes closer to family members.; increased foreign traffic through Interstate 95 making access difficult for locals;; increasing development outside town limits NKMTHDCHKLSGF

It is bordered by Isabella Township on the north and west; Winona County on the south; Utica Township on the east; and Grand Rapids County on the southeast. According to U.S. Census Bureau data, as of 2010 there were 4,811 people living in Coldwater Township (1,564 households out of which 38% had children under age 18 living with them), down from 5,045 people in 2000 census data (2,671 households). The population density was 1,872 people per square mile (631/km²). There were 2,927 housing units at an average density of 781 per square mile (309/km²). The racial makeup of Coldwater Township was 98% White European American and 2% Native American according to Census 2000 data while 9% African American according to Census 2010 data
