Coldwater is a town in the U.S. state of Michigan and it is the county seat of Washtenaw County. The population was 8,824 at the 2010 census, making it the second-largest town in Washtenaw County after Ann Arbor. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what would become Coldwater was George Hager on March 25, 1813, when he and his family founded a cabin on an east-west stream called "Hagers" about three miles from present day Coldwater. Hager's cabin served as a winter trading post for many years before becoming abandoned in 1836 when travel conditions made it too difficult to find passage upstream for travelers over the rapids that formed their course. A group of men led by Moses Dittmer built a log cabin on a small peninsula just south of present day Coldwater on April Fool's Day, 1837. They named their new settlement "Dittmerville" after Moses' father-in-law, David Dittmer Sr., who had helped them build their initial cabin and who also furnished them with all they needed for subsistence until they could find more reliable transportation upriver. In 1840, Alexander MacKenzie moved to what would become Coldwater from Battle Creek and began developing land around it which would later form part of Washtenaw County. He constructed his millrace Damen Road (now US 41) near where MacKenzie Field now stands and opened it up to traffic in 1840; this was one of the earliest commercial enterprises within what became Washtenaw County. By 1850, most residents in Dittmerville had either left or relocated to other settlements within Washtenaw County because there were no viable transportation opportunities available beyond riverboats or stage coaches running regularly between Detroit and Ann Arbor during those days; however, some people remained behind to operate MacKenzie's millrace until its closure in 1902). One reason why there were so few settlers actually living near today's community (comprising about 6 square miles), according to many sources*, is because back then rivers were only accessible by boatloads or horse wagons due to high water levels and dangerous rapids whenever floods occurred; even today some sections of River Road still remain closed due to high water levels caused by recent rains!* *Some sources claim that this low population density may be largely responsible for how little development took place along current River Road throughout much of its history despite being one of Michigans original two main highways!

This firearm consisted of a series of revolving cylinders that fired projectiles at high speed using lead balls instead of rounds like other firearms at that time. Marlin quickly became well known for his innovative design and brought about new levels of popularity for his rifles throughout America.

Coldwater is a town in Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,564 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kalamazoo-Port Huron-Niles, MI Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Coldwater was John Davidson and his family who arrived on July 24, 1817 from Scotland. In 1824 David Ladd purchased the land that would become Coldwater from David Hockaday and laid out a town platted on August 4, 1824. The name "Coldwater" originated with a stream flowing through the town which froze over during winter and became known as "the cold water." The post office at Coldwater was established in 1829 and remained open until it was discontinued in 1903. In 1830–31 an act of the Michigan legislature designated Muskegon County as its new county seat but this decision was overturned by the US Supreme Court which ruled that Kalamazoo should be the new county seat because it had more residents. In 1834–35 Edwin Saginaw built what is now called Saginaw Village near present day ColdWater on his farmstead just east of present day Main Street. This village served as a model for other villages set up by early settlers throughout the region including Battle Creek (1836), Gratiot (1838), Ionia (1840), Bay City (1842) and even Windom (1852). The first school in Coldwater opened in December 1834 when seven children from nearby Battle Creek Elementary School attended classes together for one week before returning home to their own schools. A second school building opened in 1840 also serving Coldwater Township students but this structure burned down within weeks of opening due to fire code violations. A third school building constructed between 1845 and 1850 served both township residents and local farmers though it too sustained fire damage within months of being built. By 1860 only two buildings remain standing in today's downtown area – One belonging to First United Methodist Church which began services there on October 12th, 1865; The other being a Masonic lodge which has been vacant since 1984 when it sat next to Beauty parlor on Main Street until 1993 when it was moved across street into what is now occupied by city hall where it currently stands
