Tasers have been in use by law enforcement agencies around the world for over 25 years. The first devices were designed to incapacitate suspects with a high-voltage electric current. In Clawson, Michigan, the Taser was originally created and used by the police department in an effort to reduce officer fatalities. Today, the Taser is still used as a common tool by law enforcement officers all over America. The original Taser device was developed in 1990 by McCoy Research Corporation. It consisted of two electrodes that were connected to a power source. A wire led from the electrode to a control box located on the officer’s body. This allowed officers to administer electrical shocks directly to their target without having to spray pepper spray or use other means of restraint. In 2002, Respironics Incorporated purchased McCoy Research Corporation’s patents and intellectual property rights for $1 million dollars. They rebranded the device as the Taser X2C Electric Shock Device. This new design featured four metal electrodes that could be attached directly to skin thus reducing injuries caused by other means such as pepper spray or fists. The primary purpose of the Taser X2C Electric Shock Device was modification and expansion of existing policing tools like stun guns and batons which had limited range and damage potential against large targets such as criminals or drug dealers alike; it also became an effective deterrent against crime because it did not cause any serious physical injuries when used correctly (i.e., within its intended ranges). The ability for officers using this type of weapon to deploy multiple shocks at once gave them more control over their victim than with traditional firearms techniques; this tactic has become known as “tasing technique” due to its effectiveness in subduing suspects effectively (Moses & Peele 1996).

Clawson is a small community located in the Calumet County, Michigan area. The community was chartered on November 15, 1836 by John Clawson and his wife Anna. As of the 2010 census, Clawson had a population of just over 100 people. Clawson is located at (42.5196400, -88.6402200). On January 7, 1861, Clawson was burned down by a group of men who were looking for cattle rustlers near the community. The town was rebuilt and remained active until around 1920 when it began to decline as residents moved away or died off due to diseases such as tuberculosis or yellow fever. In 1951, Clawson voters passed a resolution authorizing the erection of a local historical marker in honor of J.B. Herrington and Wm Sibley who were natives of Clawson and served in the United States Congress from 1865-1868 and 1870-1875 respectively. The current structure for the town was built in 1928 following an effort led by trustee Gertrude Higgs with support from local businesswoman Mrs Fenton Wright. It contains several local artifacts including an old cannonball that shot into Lake Superior during American Indian Wars (1815-1821) which has been exhibited at various events throughout its history; original door knobs from homes in early 20th century; clawstones used to build roads in early 21st century; 3 reproduction cannons used during World War II
Clawson is a town in Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,564 at the 2000 census. The name is derived from the French word "clawed" (a corruption of "claw" or "claw-like"). Clawson was incorporated as a village in 1868. It became a town in 1902.
