Clawson, Michigan is a small town in the Kalamazoo County area of central Michigan. The population was 1,812 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Lansing-East Lansing metropolitan area. The first gun targets were made in Clawson by local farmers in 1892. They used hay hogs as target animals and shot arrows at them from a distance. The target animals were so big that they could not be hit very often, but they provided some entertainment for the people who set up the targets. In 1915, a machinegun company was organized in Clawson and began using gun targets to practice their skills. The company bought ten guns and set up shop on Main Street. From then on, gun targets became an important part of military training for troops all over Europe and America. Today, there are several businesses inClawson that still sell or rent out gun targets for shooting purposes. Many people also use them as playing fields or playgrounds for their children.

One of the more popular methods was called “ringing” which involved firing arrows into a ring located around an object such as a tree or post. The aim was then determine how close the arrow hit its target before being released. In order to ensure accuracy, rings were often made from heavy materials like metal or cloth so that they could withstand repeated shots without breaking. By the late 1800s, handguns had become widely available and started appearing on battlefields around the world. This increase in access led to increased demand for targets specifically designed for handgun use. One particular type of handgun known as the .357 Magnum became very popular forARGET SHOOTING because it offered high accuracy and long range potential while still being able to fire fast enough to accurately hit your prey (Figure 1). Target shooters soon realized that this weapon could also be used effectively against other types of obstacles such as cars and buildings! Clawson is a small, unincorporated community in the Muskegon County of Michigan, located on the east side of the Muskegon River. Clawson was founded by John A. Clawson in 1867 as a station on the Muskegon & Detroit Railroad. The village grew rapidly and by 1881 it had a population of 350 people. It was renamed Clawson after incumbent US Senator George A. Clawson in 1906. Today, Clawson is a small commercial center with a population of under 100 people and no resident school district. The only local service provider is an ambulance service that provides medical services to area residents. The community has experienced growth over the years due to its location on the eastern bank of the river and its easy access to major highways including I-696 and I-94 which led to increased traffic and development around it. However, recent development has caused some issues such as flooding that have destroyed many homes in clusters along one street.. In addition to its lack of resident school district, clawson also experiences significant poverty due to high unemployment rates and limited access to education opportunities outside of primary or secondary schools for most residents
