Burton, Michigan is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Wayne County. The population was 68,802 at the 2010 census, making it the 11th most populous city in Michigan and its second-largest city after Detroit. As of July 1, 2019, Burton has an estimated population of 82,854 and is expected to reach 100,000 by 2027. It is home to two large universities as well as a number of small businesses and factories that have left their mark on Burton over time. The first people to live in what is now Burton were farmers who settled there around 1800. They grew corn, beans, squash and other vegetables for local consumption before moving on to built some of the first homes in what is now Burton. By 1825 they had moved out into what is now downtown where they founded the first store - later known as the First National Bank - which still stands today! The town's growth continued apace with more building being done until 1852 when a fire destroyed much of downtown including many old warehouses that were used for storage by merchants during times of drought or famine. This event forever changed Burton as it made it possible for business people to move into town rather than drive all the way out to Superior or Holland Lakes where prices were also much higher! In fact, until 1902 there was only one business open in downtown Burton - that being a post office! By 1907 there had been enough progress made so that a municipal election was held and John Smeaton was elected Mayor! He would serve four terms from then until his death in 1928! During this time period Bridges Wharf went through several changes with various developers coming and going but eventually it became known as the Wharf District which today contains many numerous shops looking back onto past eras such as this one! One development that helped spur forward Burton's growth was when Flint Hills Manufacturing Company came ashore from Grand Rapids in 1913 with plans to produce firearms here specifically for law enforcement use! This company would go on to become one of America's leading manufacturers (alongside Colt)of revolvers until their bankruptcy in 1937!! However even during these tough times some entrepreneurs kept trying new things even if it meant starting from scratch!!! In 1915 John Naylor started selling ice cream from his house on Main Street while another young entrepreneur named Harry Haggerty set up shop selling automobile parts just east of town off I-75!! These types of entrepreneurialism are what helped bring about change not simply within individual businesses but across entire neighborhoods/towns throughout America during this time period!!!! During World War II both Windsor Heights Naval Ammunition Plant (now part of US Navy Yard) located west side off I-75 near genoa Road(just south edgeof village)and nearby Saginaw Arsenal (now part of US Army Garrison Fort Gratiot) produced munitions for military use From 1942 until 1946 Revolver Factory #1 operated at Genoa Rd./I-75 between Resaca Rd./Washtenaw Ave.(just north sideofthe village), producing pistols chambered for .38 Special/.357 Magnum rounds; Revolver Factory #2 operates at Saginaw Arsenal off I-75 between Washtenaw Ave./Stiles Rd.(just south edgeofthevillage).Both facilities produced handguns chambered for 9mm Parabellum rounds

The holster industry in Burton, Michigan started in the early 1920s when a gunsmith named Harry Burton designed and manufactured holsters for handguns. He started out making holsters for .32-caliber pistols and transitioned to .35 calibers after he discovered that these guns were becoming more popular. In the 1940s, Burton began manufacturing holsters for .357 Magnum handguns. The company continued to produce Holsters until it went bankrupt in 1980.

Burton is a small town in the Michigan Panhandle, located about 20 miles south of Lansing. The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Muskegon-Lansing metropolitan area. Burton was founded in 1836 by James Burton and his family as a trading post on the Big Muddy River. In 1865, Burton became the county seat of Macomb County and was renamed Burton after James Burton's son-in-law, Samuel L. Burton. The first store in Burton opened in 1836 and was operated by James Burton and his brother John. The store grew rapidly and soon had two buildings: a log cabin near the river bank for storage and an addition to house business operations which included a blacksmithshop, wagon workshop, farm shed, kneading mill (now known as the Masonic Temple), bakery ovens, sawmill (now known as the BM&M Museum), grain elevator (now known as NorthEast Iron Works), telephone line (now called Verizon Wireless) and several other businesses including three hotels: one built by Samuel L.Burton himself (the oldest still standing building in town), another built by John Dickey (the only hotel still standing after it burned down in 1924) and another built by George Wintney which stood until it burned down in 1955. In 1865, when Macomb County became part of Wayne County, James Burton moved from his original home on Big Muddy River to what is now downtown Burton to make way for new courthouse construction that began that year. He served as deputy coroner from 1866-1868 under Chief Justice Salmon Pomeroy before being elected judge for Macomb County effective November 3rd 1870 concurrent with fellow Democrat Judah Pomeroy serving until his death on December 12th; Judge Burtons term would have expired on March 3rd 1871 if he had not been reelected due to term limits set forth in Article VII Section 4 of the Michigan Constitution at that time In February 1876 while he served on court bench he married Evaline Jane Carlson who would later become pregnant with their first child but gave birth prematurely to them both dead within hours following her delivery; they would later adopt twins named Curtice Harry Jr./Evaline Jane Flemingborg born January 2nd 1880 – sister Clarence Hilda born October 5th 1888 also died young). Evaline Jane Carlson died May 15th 1893 aged 76 years old having given birth to 14 children including 10 daughters & 6 sons plus 2 sets of twins who survived into adulthood including Evaline Jane’s twin sister Clarence Hilda Flemingborg who married Clarence Hinkle on October 5th 1889 and had four children together named Harry Clifford Alfred Richard Emmet Augustus Everett Nellie Virginia Ann born December 11th 1893 – all except Everett were killed young). During this time period there were also five others living apart from their parents or families during that time period viz.: Edwin Vail Livingstone son of Gideon Vail Livingstone & Nancy Emmons daughter of Levi Emmons & Olive Pulaski wife/fictitious name Anna Chapman daughter of Nicholas Chapman deceasedMarch 25th 1861 age 24 months); Minnie Boyd wife/fictitious name Minerva LyonbornFebruary 9TH 1863 age 7 mos.) On July 21st 1887 Judge Burton resigned from office effective September 30th due to poor health following twenty years service thereto.. . .
