In her honour, one block south of First Street between Second Avenue and Third Avenue in downtown Burton has been named Anna Ann Naylor Boulevard after her late spouse...It should be noted that some other key business figures associated with this period include Nathanial "Nate" Bowman (1853-1924), who operated a harness shop on Cass Avenue; John Pritchard (1861-1940), who operated a general store at Third Avenue and Harrison Streets; Elijah Cooks (1869-1947),who ran a bakery off West Main Street]; Solomon Brownell(?-1964)),Store Manager at Third Avenue & Harrison Streets from 1924 until his death suddenly taking over when Store Manager Joe Lepage retired and leaves no heirs apparent; Cornelius Weems(?-1974)), woodcarver/builder known primarily for his work at Main Street & Woodward Ave.; Augustus Stanislaus(?-1963)),a bricklayer active mainly around Pontiac Road & Plymouth Drive; George Waugh(?-(1920)) who operated four restaurants - three Chinese restaurants next to each other across Woodward Ave from Eastern Market before moving them out west towards Gratiot Park; Fred Dodge(?), doctor who operated several medical practices throughout Northwestern Michigan before moving to Lansing due to health concerns about living near big cities such asDetroit In 1951 James Garroway bought majority interest from Nate Bowman in The Lion's Den Inn which became Garroway's Tavern later renamed Garroway's Pub next door On October 10th 1959 residents #1 through #6 held their first election under new township charter resulting by popular vote with incumbent Mayor Harry Jorgensen reelected with 54% against challenger Al Kappelen’s 44%. Mr Kappelen challenged Mr Garroway but without success Voter turnout was high throughout those years with over 60% voting being done by mail ballot due to prohibition laws then still effective . George Waugh opened up his restaurant across Woodward Ave from Eastern Market shortly thereafter while Fred Dodge continued practicing medicine out of his house just northeast of where Fourth Street meets Second Avenue

Burton, Michigan is a small town located in the Kalamazoo-Portage County area of Michigan. The population was 511 at the 2010 census. It is one of two communities in that county, the other being Grand Rapids. Burton's ZIP code is 49009. The first people to live in what is now Burton were Scandinavian immigrants who came to the area during the late 1800s. They built wooden cabins and started a grocery store called The Gables on Main Street in 1892. That store was later renamed The Heritage Store and still stands today. After World War II, many residents of Burton began working in nearby Grand Rapids and its mills. As these workers left for different parts of the country, they took their businesses with them. Today, few if any traces remain of those early days in Burton - but that doesn't mean that it has been without its share of history! One such history mainstay is its namesake - Burton Lake, which lies just outside town on Township Road 3E (formerly Highway 163). This body of water once served as a stopover for travelers on their way between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo; it also served as a dumping ground for local trash after townsites moved out to make way for new shopping malls and other development projects. In 1951, state officials decided to rename Burton Lake after General George Washington Marquis because it had become an important military location during World War I (Burton was located along major strategic routes). However, some residents protested against this decision and #LoveIt or Not?# campaign ensued which helped convince state officials to change the name back to Burrton Lakeset following public outcry! Another significant figure from early Burton history is Elmer Hinton Sr., who played an important role within local politics from 1923 until his death in 1961. Mr. Hinton was born into a family of farmers who resided near what is now Eastpointe Shopping Center on State Road 9A near milepost 129 N/S (now M-55). After graduating from high school he taught himself how to read Morse Code so that he could communicate with Russian prisonersofwar held at Camp Sevastopol near where present day Ann Arbor sits; he even managed to send data back home using just three letters! Unfortunately, due to an accident while working outdoors when his machine broke down, Mr. Hinton never got his chance To tell his story live... however you can see him preserved inside Pioneer Hall Museum & History Complex right next door! As mentioned before, much activity takes place around downtown Grand Rapids today despite very little evidence remaining from early years hereabouts - including one infamous case where someone sliced open a historic log cabin interior with a chainsaw so they could take pictures inside! Needless to say... this incident created quite some excitement among locals when it happened (!), but thankfully no damage was done! Another popular pastime around town was picnicking; families would gather at various locations around town over weekend weekends for fun activities like fishing or camping including several ponds close by! There are now several trails available leading up to township road underlying all this activity making exploring downtown something truly enjoyable nowadays!
Burton was founded in 1836 by John Burton and his family. The town was named after John's father, Burton of Lanesborough, England. The community grew quickly and soon had a school, post office, church, barns and other infrastructure. In 1852 the first railroad reached the town and it began to grow even more. By 1865 the population had rose to over 1,000. The town continued to grow until it reached its peak in 1889 when it had a population of 4,500 people. However, due to economic reasons the population slowly declined until it reached its current level of around 500 people in 2000.
