His device used an 8-volt battery to fire short pulses of coherent light at a distance of about 350 meters (1,000 feet). In 1949, American inventor Philip Ebel filed patent for the “Ebel Gun Laser”. This weaponfired a green beam of energy from an optically-agglued aluminum tube that was aimed through a telescope onto the target. The Ebel Gun Laser had a range of about 350 meters (1,000 feet). It was not until 1970 that another gun laser was designed using optical technology – the so-called photoelectric dischargegun laser (PDG) or photoelectron cannon. PDG lasers use electrons as their projectile instead of light photons. These guns are able to shoot projectiles up to 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) away from the muzzle! In 1955, General Electric introduced the first gun laser it had developed. It was called the GE L-5. The L-5 used a semiconductor mirror to create an image on a screen of the target and caused a spark that created heat which caused the mirror to hit the target and produce light.

In 1835, General John Arbuthnot built Fort Arbuthnot here to protect against Native Americans who were raiding neighboring villages near this location during their annual raids known as "the Great Lakes War." In 1868, Jno Fritchie built twoand three-story frame houses on Dearborn Street between Woodward Avenue and Ionia Avenue; these are now part of nearby Parma Heights neighborhood. By 1870, much development had occurred within present day Auburn Hills: streets were laid out, churches were erected or rebuilt (including St James Episcopal Church), businesses were established including Jno Fritchie's Brewery (now part of DTE Energy), homes were constructed across various blocks bounded by Dearborn Street/Ionia Avenue/ Woodward Ave./Niles Rd./Stiles Rd., west side streets became Mound Road/Eastland Ave./Kensington Blvd., north side streets became Cadillac Boulevard/Harrison Ford Drive.) During World War II, many wartime plants operated within or adjacent to present day Auburn Hills including Deere & Company's main plant on Mound Road west of Niles Road which produced farm tractors; Alcoa Aluminum Works near Harrison Ford Drive east of Ionia Avenue produces aluminum siding products; Ford Motor Company Richter works at Dearborn Street between Niles Rd./Mound Rd./Harrison Ford Dr.; other operations included Phelps Dodge Corporation's Main Plant southeast corner Grosse Pointe Farms road serving production for both trucks and cars; Allied Shipbuilding Corporation Laird shipyard manufactures ships including submarines; these facilities closed following World War II but are still evident today via remnants such as foundations and ditches around NW corner Grosse Pointe Farms road housing property owned by Alcoa Aluminum Works.)

Auburn Hills is a town in the U.S. state of Michigan, situated on the eastern border of Washtenaw County and the city of Flint. The population was 24,722 at the 2010 census. Auburn Hills is located on both sides of M-1 highway, just east of I-56 and west of US-2. The first settlers in what is now Auburn Hills were Methodist Episcopal missionaries from North Carolina who came to reside in what is now Muskegon Heights in 1824. By 1830, there were about 20 families living in what is now Auburn Hills. In 1834, General John Cushing led an expedition against the Miami Indians near present day Wixom and destroyed their village; this event marks the beginning of white settlement in southeastern Michigan outside Detroit proper. In 1836, James Kapp purchased land southeast of downtown Flint which he donated to the government for use as a military reservation known as Camp Gratiot (later Camp Mackinac). The site was home to up to 3,000 soldiers during the 1840s due to its strategic location at one end of Gratiot River near present day Lansing and at another end near Grand Rapids with easy access to water supplies. In 1847, Kapp donated another piece of land east of his original rancho for development into what became today's downtown Auburn Hills area; construction began on this area in 1850 and completed by 1855. During World War II, Auburn Hills served as a training ground for American forces stationed in Normandy France and Belgium before being used as an airfield for bomber missions across Europe until it was closed down by Allied troops following World War II. Today, much commercial activity takes place within Downtown Auburn Hills including several large shopping centers such as West Side Mall/Mall Of America and Cadillac Place/Target Center which are all adjacent to each other on Eastside Boulevard off I-696 between Woodward Avenue and Huron Street. Additionally there are numerous office buildings located throughout Downtown Auburn Hills like One Financial Plaza Tower (formerly The Enzian), One Ford Assembly Plant Tower (formerly Highland Park Towers), Renaissance Center Complex (formerly First National Bank) along with several smaller complexes like Springtime Square Shopping Centre which anchors Downtown's main commercial district.. The City Of Flint has taken control over most aspects related historically with organized crime activity within its boundaries including law enforcement efforts that have been implemented specifically targeting street gangs such as MS-13 - one reason why many residents have fled their townships over recent years; however some residents have chosen to remain while they grapple with issues around crime and politics that continue even after local officials' promises that solutions will be forthcoming...
