Smith, described an apparatus for making prints with a negative image on one side and a positive image on the other. The photo print process was first used in 1892 by Russian painter Ivan Turgenev in his painting " War and Peace". Photography quickly became popular among wealthy elites throughout the world, and they began to purchase more elaborate photographic equipment to improve their photosynthetic efficiency. By the early 1920s, it had become commonplace for professional photographers everywhere to carry around specialized photographic equipment that allowed them To make prints from negatives or slides using various printing processes including silver-gilt paper and wood engraving (known as lithography). During World War II, advances in technology led to an increase in photography as war waged against Axis powers. With improved printing processes such as offset lithography, photographers could create large-scale images that could be reproduced many times over without losing quality or resolving differences between adjacent exposures. This made photography a powerful tool for advertising and propaganda during wartime; during the height of Nazi rule in Europe, for example, photos taken by Allied soldiers showed Nazi troop formations very clearly while photographs taken by Axis troops were often obscured or blurred.
In 1924, a company by the name of Pershing Optics was founded in Dearborn, Michigan. In 1929, they introduced the first practical 3-dimensional television camera. The company continued to make optics and televisions until 2005 when they retired from production.
Alpena is a city in the Muskegon Heights region of Michigan, United States. The population was 5,995 at the 2010 census. Alpena is part of the Grand Rapids–Muskegon Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settlers arrived in 1814 and founded a trading post on the east side of river called "The Forks." In 1824, John Lennon came to Alpena from Liverpool, England to find work as a carpenter. He became friendly with local merchants and started playing music at night at one of their stores before moving on to other businesses. In 1836, John Sibley opened the first store in what is now downtown Alpena. At that time, it was one of only a few stores open for business in central Michigan. By 1840, Sibley had built three buildings - two hotels and one store - which remain standing today within town limits. In 1860, Albion Wagon Wheel & Implement Company was founded by George Doolittle with help from Jno Biddle and others from Detroit. It became one of the largest wagon wheel manufacturers in North America and exported products all over the world including parts for railroads across Canada and Mexico In 1870s- 1880s there were two great waves of immigration coming into Alpena: Germans (many who had fled Prussia during World War I) as well as Irish people who worked on farms or took up carpentry skills after leaving their homes back home During this time many small businesses were purchased by larger companies such as Armour Brewing Co., Centralia Steel Works (now Molineux Metals), Sears Roebuck & Co., etc.. Many residents also formed unions to improve working conditions for laborers By 1890 most wagons were being replaced by cars so manufacturing stopped but some remained until 1930 when they closed down due to high costs associated with new technology Large mills closed up shop during both depressions while smaller ones did not suffer any serious damage however some lost employees and customers because they could not compete with bigoted companies like Ford Motor Company who offered better wages and benefits
