Bullets have been used for centuries in Alpena, Michigan. Bullet history can be traced back to 1859 when a group of men from Alpena formed the Rifle Club. The club enjoyed rights to use muskets and pistols that were owned by other citizens. In 1860, they organized a ball game using handguns and rifles. bullet holes still exist in the old courthouse in downtown Alpena. In 1865, the rifle club moved its meeting place to the old post office building on State Street. That same year, they started shooting matches at their new location. From then until 1892, they hosted regattas at their clubhouse each summer! In 1892, they moved again- this time to what is now known as Third Street Baptist Church on Main Street in downtown Alpena. It was here that they continued hosting meetings and shooting matches until 1924 when they disbanded due to lack of members. Since 1927 there has been an annual NRA Annual Meeting & Exposition held at the Lansing Convention Center which includes exhibitors from around the world along with live shows by popular music artists and competitions among different types of firearms including airsoft guns and paintball games!

Alpena is a town in Hillsdale County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,872 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Hillsdale Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Alpena" means "the highlands." The first settlers in Alpena were Germans who arrived in 1814. They built a log cabin on the banks of the Kawkawack River and named it Fort Augustus after their stately home in Germany. By 1825, the German-American community had grown to include 225 people and they renamed their settlement Alpena after American Colonel John Alpena (1795-1847), governor of Lower Michigan from 1824 to 1830 and Senator from Michigans tenth district from 1830 to 1836. As American forces moved into Canada during the War of 1812, many Germans left forts and settlements along Lake Superior to escape war fare but some continued to live in Alpena until about 1840 when most migrated westward into Iowa or Nebraska. In 1861, when Michigan became a territory of Texas, Alpena became its capital and largest city with 592 residents according to the US Census Bureau. In 1865, as a result of damage done by an earthquake Known as quakes 9 & 10 (1862), much brick construction took place throughout centralMichigan including what would become downtown Lansing which began taking shape around that time with stores like Gretsch AG., Wm Fenton's Brewery(now Quicken Loans)and others opening up near First National Bank building on Saginaw Street between Griggs Road & Kalamazoo Avenue which later became MLive Arena giving Lansing its nickname "The City". Many new businesses opened up during this period such as Davenport Manufacturing Co.(later Davenport typewriter company) established earlier that year just north of State Capitol Building on Main Street opposite Kresge department store; Ford Motor Company started producing automobiles here in 1911; Jenrys Clothing Store(now JCPenney)opened adjacent to First National Bank building soon followed by several other businesses until all but one closed by 1941 due largely to prohibitionism brought about by then President Franklin D Roosevelt's New Deal measures designed primarily against organized crime elements operating within America despite political opposition thereto). A post office was set up at Alpena in 1865 "(Post Office Department)", becoming an important local institution providing mail service for area residents well beyond what could be accomplished through personal letter delivery services characteristic of frontier America at that time. The telephone system was installed here in 1923 with wires extending out from downtown Lansing across Griggs Rd./Kalamazoo Ave.; today there are severalateliers serving parts or all of centralMichigan including ones located inside/outside MLive Arena making it easy for locals/ visitors both day or evening hours for starters! Alpena has long been known nationally for its cheese production - starting with cowrie shells found near present day Canal Fulton Road - however there are many other industries also based here including autoSunoco oil refineries since 1949; aluminum products manufacturing since 1978; medical equipment manufacture since 1984; among others!

Today, Alpena is home to a small number of high-profile businesses but little significant economic activity outside of social services or government functions
