From 1978 until 2006 Joe Curtin served as Vice President Publications for Worcester County MA’s Sangamon Valley District Government under then-(Governor) Patrick Quinn; since 2006 he has been Executive Editor at Worcester Weekly News which publishes Monday through Friday excepting Holidays...As early residents gathered around fireside chats or read aloud versions of old family songs there were few cars on Main Street because transportation was either taking people up country or down to Lancaster (then Ipswich) where trade goods were bought or traded or going downriver to be processed at some larger factory... It wasn't long before cricket could also be heard echoing off buildings like those near what is now Market Square... school children playing truant from morning class would slowly make their way around backstreets nearby houses asking if they could borrow any books etc., these kids usually got away with just a few tokens back where they came from... By 1860 most people had stopped farming due to illness or bad weather but many young men decided to go into business such as Nathan Hale started doing carpentry although not much else happened during his lifetime other than founding Hale & Curtis Insurance Company later renamed Sam’s Club Stores Incorporated in 1984)... One early settler who did have an impact on Woburn was Elijah Howe who built several businesses including groceries store [now Macy's] across from main square along with several homes including one now occupied by the town library.... When it came time for incorporation all original towns within Norfolk County had their hearings held here so only tworived - Sudbury [founded next door] & Watertown [founded about three miles northeast]; Sudbury incorporated first while Watertown didn'tuntil 1880 after much protest from locals over lack of representation Accordingly, it should come as no surprise that during Barack Obama's first term there were more protests against him taking office than defenders trying protect America’s First Black President! One notable protest took place March 4th 2009 when 500 – 700 protestors marched through downtownWorcester chanting “No justice no peace!” Some sources claim up to 800 protestors may have participated but police estimate less than 50% actually made it onto Washington St., disbanding afterwards without causing any damage
