Gun slings continued to be used by farmers throughout the 1800s, but it wasn’t until the late 19th century that they began becoming popular among law enforcement officers. In 1896, Westfield became the first municipality in Massachusetts to adopt an ordinance legalizing firearms. This led to the widespread use of handguns for personal protection and hunting purposes throughout the town. Gun slings continued to be popular through most of the 20th century, but their popularity slowly began waning during World War II due to their limited range and potential danger while firing at close distances. However, they remain an important part of American culture and history today!

Westfield is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 9,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Worcester–Fenway Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded by Increase Mather in 1638 as Westfield Plantation on land purchased from the Pequot nation. The name "Westfield" first appeared on a deed dated November 3, 1722 from Samuel Adams to John Winthrop. In 1734-35, when the area around present-day Westfield was first settled, it was known as Marsden's Forts because of its strategic location between Worcester and Boston. In 1812, the name reverted to Westfeldt Manor after Colonel George Washington bought the estate and changed its name to Mount Vernon House. In 1825, James Kroupa became owner of Mount Vernon House and began expanding it into what is now called Kroupa Park which included parts of present-day Westfield. He also built an extensive brick house which still stands today within Kroupa Park - one of only a few surviving examples of early post-Revolutionary architecture in Massachusetts. Kroupa died in 1865 and his heirs sold the property to Garth Sherman in 1907 for $2 million dollars ($ when adjusted for inflation). Sherman made significant improvements to Kroupa Park including adding tennis courts and aChildren's Zoo which opened in 1951. The park has been kept mostly unchanged since then with some minor expansions such as reopening of trails following Hurricane Sandy in 2012! On July 14th 2017, President Donald Trump visited Mount Vernon House where he tourred many areas inside and outside the massive brick home that once housed America's most powerful man until his death in 2018! After touring many rooms including both chambers Of Congress (the Senate Chamber & The White House), He walked up stairs inside Toombs' bedroom where he slept before continuing down into another room where Mrs Lincoln had her Cabinet meetings during her time as First Lady! This visit marked only the third time that an American president has ever toured Mount Vernon House... meaning this massive structure may be open to visitors again soon courtesy of something called “Trump National Monument”!
