Since then, many businesses have sprung up around Central Park Avenue with similar names like "Parkside" and "Greenwich." In recent years there has been talk of moving Westfield's government center away from downtown because of concerns about its portability and potential affiliation with rival towns such as Springfield or Holyoke should they arise in that location's growth rates; however no decisions have yet been madeofficially about where that center will be located or when it would come down if those plans ever came true

In addition to being home to many major hospitals and universities – including Harvard University and MIT –Westfield is also well known for its agricultural sector which includes production of fruits, vegetables and grains such as wheat, corn and soybeans. The city of Quincy has been located near Westfield since 1903 when two large mills were built there – one belonging to churnaker John Swift & Co., which still operates today under different ownership (Fruitful Harvest) while another called Houghton Mifflin Paper Products closed down in 2001 but due to a deal between Quincy resident Wanda Emerson ( widow of Orson Scott Card) and paper manufacturer Kimberly-Clark Softwood Plastics products are still produced there today under new ownership (Qwest Woodchips).
