In 1892, Voters passed a resolution approving annexation of much larger sections of East Windsor Township into Westfeldt so that more people could be brought into what would become what is now known as “the city” – home to nearly 20 million residents today – while still keeping much rural character: small towns like Granby continued to exist even though they are surrounded by high-rise developments; farmers still milk cows on their farms between sunset and sunrise without modern mechanization or other forms of income generation; blacksmiths still produced tools using wrought iron instead of plastic or aluminum because those materials were available nearby and affordable; Gates Mills continued manufacturing flour until 1985 when it closed its doors for good due primarily to competition from soybean production in China.
