Over time, many businesses were founded here including Button Manufacturing Company (founded 1869), Peirce Paper Company (1892), Coca Cola Bottling plant (1913), Jiffy Lube Oil well (1920), and Quincy Market Shopping Center (1985). Many famous residents have lived or worked here such as Malcolm X and Franklin D Roosevelt; however, most recent residents have been commuters who commute into Boston or Greater Manchester area for work or study
