It wasn't until 1851 that new township boundaries were set which separated it from neighboring Bellingham Township which would later become Everett Township In 1966 Waltham celebrated its centennial year with an event called "A Century of Progress". This event saw many improvements made to thetown such as new roads and infrastructure; including an addition of a large park system along US Route 112 throughout central square In early 2020s there were plans to redevelop downtown core into an urban center focused around arts & culture The redevelopment project ultimately never happened due to lack of interest or funding
