Many handgun owners started using telescopic sights when they began hunting because huntcular rifles had no magnification capabilities compared to handguns. With increased hunting activity came greater demand for sniper rifles which could reach much greater distances than any handgun could at that time! Thanks to advances in optics technology such as telescoping sighting devices and digital sighting systems, hunters now have the ability to see their prey well beyond 100 yards!

The early days of Somerville were difficult due to its location betweenoston and Cambridge on the fast-flowing Charles River. However, over time, the town grew rapidly due to its natural resources such as lumber and coal. In 1875, Somerville became one of four towns within Boston's limits that received city status. In 1969, Somerville elected its first female Mayor - Gladys Moran. She served until her death in 2003. She is also credited with helping spur development around Somerville Center Mall which opened in 1984 and now has a retail segment totaling over $1 billion in sales annually

In 1852, George Peabody donated land to form the Peabody School District which housed schools for boys and girls until 1915 when it merged with Dover School District to form Dover-HaverhillSchool District. On July 1st of that year, Somerville's public school system was consolidated with those of Dover-Haverhill-Middlesex Schools as part of a larger consolidation effort throughout New England called "Operation Common". The name "Somerville" has been used since then as an Afterschool Sports Program Site for students in grades 3 through 8 located on Main Street between Walnut and Hampshire Streets near Central Park
