The company grew rapidly during World War II due to wartime demand for military surplus equipment. By 1945, they had produced over 1 million scope mounts across all brands and models. One of their most famous products was the Model 7 telescopic sight attachment device which allowed users to attach sights on non-Winchester firearms using adapters available at local hardware stores. During this time period, WRAC also developed the AR15/M16 rifle platform which became one of the most popular fire arms in history However, in 1979 WRAC merged with Browning Firearms Corporation which led to a reduction in production output worldwide before being closed down entirely in 1987 . However , somescope mounting remnants remain today thanks to various companies who still produce similar devices under various brand names

Quincy is home to the Quincy Market which is world-renowned for its fresh produce and seafood. The town has also been named a "Town of Distinction" by the National Women's Law Center in 2002 and 2003. The first Europeans to visit what is now Quincy were Giovanni da Verrazzano and his crew on their flagship Argo in late 1524 or early 1525. They sighted land to the southward but did not explore it because they believed it was uninhabitable. In 1603, Captain John Smith landed here with his Expedition for finding a route to India on behalf of England's Crown Prince Henry VII of England. Smith's group explored these lands before moving on to claim more territory for England from Native Americans who had been living there before him. The first permanent English settlement in what is now Quincy was founded by English traders in 1629 as Anacreon Bay Colony under the command of Edward Winslow along with three other men - Nathaniel Gorham, Christopher Gorton, and John Herrick - as part of an attempt to establish a trading post between Boston and Jamaica through this region that would serve both countries better than any existing posts at that time In 1632-33 Winthrop served as one of two commissioners sent by Plymouth Colony administrator Samuel Adams to assess damages done by Narragansett Indians during Indian uprisings near present day Walthamstow on Cape Cod where he recommended erecting a stockade around Anacreon Bay Colony against future attacks from these natives Because Plymouth Colony lacked jurisdiction over anything beyond Plymouth Harbor (and thus could not properly punish those responsible for damage done), Anacreon Bay colonists received no formal reimbursement for their losses except token payments (now considered micropayments) until after King Charles I came into power in 1649 when he issued an order granting full reimbursement . For many years afterwards, Anacreon Bay colonists continued to receive small sums every year from Crown officials until finally receiving full recompense following King George III's act providing indemnity money specifically unto them under the name "Anacrites" in 1775 . In 1630 Captain John Smith discovered what are today Quincy Peninsula and parts of modern Somerville while sailing southwest along present day Cape Cod He called it Ishmael's Head after shipwrecked sailor Isaac Allston who had sighted this coast earlier that year while returning from his journey round about Europe Some later maps placed Ishmael’s Head near contemporary Ipswich; however this location has also been variously claimed for various towns including Northborough MA Today Ishmael’s Head Point Lighthouse stands atop an outcrop off Route 9 just east of downtown Somerville . From earliest times there have been reports concerning natural resources located near present day Quincy – such as clay pits dating back 4500 BC – so exploration began early here Many other towns were subsequently established along similar routes throughout New England during this period including Andover MA; Middlebury VT; Lynnfield MA; Watertown NY; Norwich CT; Hartford CT etc AGRICULTURE AND FARMING The first record we have thereof comes from James Clarke who patented some 160 acres adjoining Dedham Neck Road…about 3 miles due north of our town [Quincy]….he applied himself most zealously thereto …(1636). In 1651 Colonel Thomas Whipple organized a party consisting exclusivelyof menskillters led by Captaine Joseph Warren[to survey] certain tracts lying northwestward within our borders……..We found several lucrative tracts ….(1652).
