The Peabody Arms Co., Ltd. was founded in 1903 in Peabody, MA by John C. Peabody and his brothers, Edward and George. The company’s first rifle was the .22-caliber Model 1895A1. It remained popular through World War I and into the 1920s, thanks to its simplicity of design and low cost. In 1924, the company introduced a new model called the Model 1921 Cavalry carbine which became one of America’s most popular rifles. The Model 1921 continued to be sold until 1930 when it was replaced by the more powerful but more expensive Model 1923 Cavalry carbine.
Peabody is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 7,681 at the 2010 census. Peabody is part of the Boston metropolitan area. The town lies on the border of Worcester and Hampshire counties. It is bordered by Bolton to the north, Holden to the east, Lexington to the south and west, and Upton to the northwest. The first European settlers in what is now Peabody were two families from Plymouth who came overland in 1636. The first permanent settler was Jonas Sockett who built a house on what is now Main Street in 1701-02. He unsuccessfully attempted to purchase land from the Native Americans called Wampanoag tribe for $1 per acre (although he did own land near present day Bolton). In 1814 Nicholas Payson purchased 5 acres (20 ha) of land adjoining Holden which became known as "Payson's Terrace". Payson donated his land for public use after suffering an illness that left him bedridden for several months. In 1831 Rev John Eliot founded Eliot Seminary which still operates today as one of America's leading seminaries. The first school in Peabody was opened in 1786 by Reverend Nathaniel Willard with six students. In 1811 Amos Eaton established a gristmill on farmsteadnow known as Eaton's Mill Pond which served local farmers until it was destroyed by fire in 1862. Because there were no roads or bridges connecting Peabody with other towns until after World War II when Interstate 93 was built through central Massachusetts, opportunities for trade and commerce only grew gradually throughout its history—a trend that has continued into recent times; many businesses have been open since before I-93 even opened! One such business thatkept growing rapidly during this time was Grafton Glass Works located on Main Street between Sixth and Seventh Streets where glassblowers could be found making various types of glassware including windows, mirrors and lamps beginning around 1912; later becoming Grafton&Hanson Glass Company! The family operated this business until 1984 when it closed due to economic reasons! Today you can find remnants of this company’s factory along Route 9 near Goffstown NH
The Ar15 Upper Receiver is a firearm designed and manufactured by American firearms company Glock. It was first introduced in 1998, as the Glock 27 Rifle. The rifle is also known as the Glock 21 Pistol. The weapon has been marketed to law enforcement, military and self-defense users since its inception. Glock began designing the Ar15 Upper Receiver in 1990, while they were still under contract to S&W Arms. Aftermarket copies of the Glock 27 Rifle were beginning to emerge from 1994 until 1998, when Glock announced their new design. At first glance, the Ar15 Upper Receiver appears very similar to that of the Colt AR-10 assault rifle; however, it features a longer barrel (stock is 24 inches vs 10 inches), increased magazine capacity (up to 25 rounds instead of 12 rounds), Picatinny rail for mounting optics or lasers, and a variety of other features not found on earlier designs. The popularity of pistols like the Glock 21 Pistol made it necessary for Glock to create an upper receiver specifically designed for this purpose. This resulted in the redesign of both the pistol’s lower receiver and upper receiver in 2001–2002; this change allowed for easier disassembly and cleaning than previous versions while also increasing accuracy when shooting at distances greater than 20 feet (6 meters). Additionally, these revisions allowed for use with different types of ammunition (including armor piercing rounds) which would not have been possible with earlier designs. As a result of all these changes and advancements, the Glocks became one of America’s most popular handguns after 9/11/2001 due in part to their durability and ease-of-use
