With increasing awareness of its unique history and culture – both present day and historical events dating back centuries – Northampton has enjoyed increased popularity among visitors both during Puritan times when it was little more than a small farming community (the only one east of Boston) as well as more recent periods when it has played host to events like NHBA Championships tennis matches or Apple Blossom Festival music festivals
