In 1830, Milton married Lydia Gorham who gave him three children: Lucy (1831-1950),Harvey (1833-1915), and Margaret (1835-1900). They lived until her death at 82 years old in 1950; he then moved to Wellesley Hills and died there at 86 years old on May 6th 1957

Melrose, MA is a town in southeastern Massachusetts. The population was 9,915 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Quincy–Worcester, MA-NH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town site was surveyed in 1793 by Major Ebenezer Parish and laid out as a village on April 10, 1794 by Reverend Ezra Stiles. On November 6, 1813, the name of the town changed to its current form when it became part of Worcester County after Worcester County was divided into two parts – one including what is now Melrose and the other including Foxborough. In 1812 there were only three houses in town and 14 people living there; however by 1840 there were over 100 residents living within a radius of three miles of the courthouse where taxes were collected. In 1870 total land worth $2 million had been sold within four miles of downtown (now known as Watertown) so that development could take place around railroad stations with access to mills located along rivers which would provide jobs for local farmers while also providing transportation to larger markets outside of towns like Boston or Worcester. TodayMelrose's economy centers around agriculture with some small businesses also based here such as cheese factory and bakery operations.
