Butler's Gun Club, a rifle and pistol shooting society in Marlborough, MA, has been using shooting glasses since the 1800s. The club's first shooters were able to use green army surplus spectacles which had round lenses. The club began using shooting glasses in 1903 when they were given to members of the local paper company as part of an experiment with improved vision. From then until the late 1920s, Butler's used clear acetate or plastic"skins" which allowed shooters to see clearly but did not protect their eyes from injury. Marlborough, Massachusetts is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 7,724 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest town in Plymouth County after Northampton. Marlborough was first settled by the Pequot people and named for Colonel John Marlborough of England who had come to America in 1620. The Dutch named it "Nieuw Hoorn" (New Horn) because of its location on the new route between Boston and New York City. In 1736, Englishman Josiah Quincy became one of the original proprietors of what is today Marlborough Township. In 1802, it incorporated as a city with a population of 6,000. The area now known as Marlborough was long part of Harvard University's campus and founded in 1634 by Reverend Stephen Eliot as an agricultural college preparatory school near Cambridgeport. Harvard gradually extended its holdings into what are now Plymouth and Andover townships until they acquired all but one township in 1776 when they merged with other townships to form Plymouth County (named for Captain John Carver). When Harvard left Cambridge in 1755 for good, much land changed hands among private individuals and organizations until finally it came under public ownership following the opening of Massachusetts Bay Colony's first courthouse in 1786 under Governor Samuel Adams. As part of this process, Howard College also came into being although it did not actually become a part of Boston until 1800 when Students from both colleges moved together into buildings on Tremont Street north of Commonwealth Avenue.) In 1801 Mayor James Kapp bought 1/4 acre (0.16 km2) from Drury Lane resident Nicholas Biddle to create what is today South Main Street which connectedBoston Common with King's Chapel across Groveland Avenue (). This road still exists today as South Main Street within walking distance to most parts of downtown Boston proper while Groveland Avenue has been replaced by State Road 102A which runs parallel to MA 101 southbound just east of Northampton center where State Road 102B ends.-South Main Street continued along what is now Northampton Center Road before turning northwest ontoRoute 3 then continuing northeast along Route 3 towardsMarlborough Hts.–At present there are no active streets or highways running through Marlborough township…Today most people travel either directly or via Lexington / Concord Roads which run parallel to MA 101 southbound just east offNorthampton center where State Road 102B ends., making access easy and efficient.- Mentioned earlier were two important Revolutionary War veterans: General Nathan Bedford Forrest () born at Ipswich Plantation near Salem on October 25th 1775 died December 12th 1833 at age 76 years old and Major Edward Braddock (), born January 2nd 1777 died November 26th 1814 aged 44 years old both served with distinction during that conflict.- These names may be familiar but many others mentioned herein also went on to illustrious careers including twenty-one members listed on Appendix I Of The Congressional Directory Of Ulysses S Grant’s Ancestors - A Record Volume 4 pages 424-427

Marlborough, Massachusetts is a small town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts. The population was 596 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Boston metropolitan area and is bordered by Brookline to the south, Quincy to the west, Easton to the north and Weymouth to the east. According to history, Marlborough began as a small village onMedway Bay. A post office was established there in 1827 and remained in operation until 1957. In that year, it merged with neighboring Ipswich. The first settler in Marlborough was Nicholas Appelbaum who arrived in 1786 and built a house on what is now Center Street. He also raised horses and cattle here. Another early settler was Isaac Smith who arrived about 1800 and set up shop on present day Main Street. In 1802, John Morse established a sawmill at what is now Middletonville for processing lumber from local trees. The mill continued operations until 1865 when it burned down due to arson. Then came another mill founded by Edward Wright near present day Watertown which operated until 1907 when it closed due to financial difficulties. finally a gristmill established by Wm White in 1829 which continued operating until 1922 when it burned down also due to arson). It wasn’t until after World War II that new industry began entering Marlborough; this was with the establishment of an aluminium smelting plant built by Bethlehem Steel Corporation in 1952-1953 which produced aluminum cans for American consumers (the first can made from recycled aluminum). Additionally, an oil refinery opened its doors at nearby Wallingford in 1962; this helped fuel growth within Marlborough over ensuing years while also creating some environmental challenges along the way (such as air pollution created by production processes). Today, much of what made Marlborough such an attractive place To live & work has disappeared - however much remains visible such as numerous churches dating back centuries (including one original Dutch church), stately homes dating back to before Confederation including two largest mansions still standing today (& one being used as housing for students at Needham Institute) & impressive architecture from throughout American history like Elihu Root's old home now used as offices & living quarters for business people (& his library)
