When Hale died in 1892 without children or descendants to succeed him, his bequest went to his wife Abigail Adams Hale “at her death without issue” according to one source; however another source says that “Mrs. Hale [became] guardian of two young girls living with her mother Mrs[enia] Alger Hitchcock at 7 Whitehall Place while their father served out his sentence at Folsom Prison” due to Hitchcock beingAbigailAdamsHale’s unmarried sister so she would have guardianship if Mrs Adams passed away without leaving any heirs apparent Governor William Weld appointed Commissioners George Easton Richardson III and Warren Harding with authority to manage all aspects related thereto upon recommendation of Secretary Of War Edwin Stanton pursuant To 1 Statute 8 UMass Acts & Regulations Chap 3 §2 effective November 20th 1915 . Easton Richardson also executed will naming Mrs Haltie Newell Dewey executrix thereof . On November 20th 1915 newell Dewey married Abigail Adams Hale creating anew family nucleus & perpetuating lineage thru 2 daughters—Nancy und Joan

In 1636, Nathaniel Hawthorne settled in Marlborough after moving from Charlestown, MA. He owned land near where Main Street and Putnam Road meet today. Hawthorne would later write one of America's great literature manuscripts - Walden Pond - in this community. In 1638 Samuel Eliot Morison moved to Marlborough with his wife Priscilla and their two children then aged 10 months old and 4 years old when they were falsely accused of witchcraft by some residents of neighboring Ipswich after seeing them do some strange things around their home fire which they could not explain! They were eventually cleared of any wrongdoing but it made an impression on Morison who decided to name his new community after his late mother-in-law (Prisilla). Eliot Morison would go on to become one of America’s most significant intellectuals and a leader in modern American liberalism
