This company became very successful and eventually produced over 1,000 guns. Malden residents started buying these cannons from the company and began using them for national defense purposes. In 1818, a new armory was built in this town and it became very important for the military due to its location. It was also used as a training ground for future officers. In 1847, the town moved out of its original location and started manufacturing rifles instead. However, because of its close proximity to Boston, there was always potential demand for these firearms throughout the years. In 1861, Malden voted to secede from Massachusetts and become an independent state known as Rhode Island. This event led to many gun manufacturers moving their operations upstate into this new state. Eventually, Malden would be re-joined with Massachusetts again and continue producing firearms until 1975 when production ended due to economic reasons

Malden, Massachusetts is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. Malden is one of the oldest towns in the Boston metropolitan area and has been around since 1636. It is home to Harvard University and Wellesley College. Malden was first settled by English colonists in 1636 as part of what is now Middlesex County. The name Malden comes from "maldon", meaning "a meadow." In 1784, two brothers, Nathaniel and Ebenezer Morse, opened a Tavern on Main Street called the Gadsden House which served as a social center for early Malden settlers. On October 15, 1794, the town voted to incorporate as a village under the name of "Hingham". In 1827, Malden formed part of the new Worcester circuit court system with other towns in that area. On December 1st that year it became an incorporated settlement when it ratified an ordinance giving its charter to incorporation by vote of its citizens. The first election held as an incorporated community was on January 3rd 1830 with John Gould being elected President pro tempore and Nathan Hale Vice President pro tempore over incumbent Isaac Fenton. On July 4th 1835 came about when seven people met at Hackensack's Tavern on Wickham Common (now lines Rd) to create what would become known as Frost's Mill Pond League which aimed to improve local waterways for navigation and fisheries purposes among others tasks including creating common property boundaries between various members parcels thereof through surveys conducted by Christopher Parkyns By 1840 there were 10 Lots established within the limits mentioned above: 5 lots each side of High Street; 2 lots each side of Elm Street; 2 lots each side of Washington Street; 1 lot along Maiden Lane; 3 lots along Huntington Avenue The first meeting place for town meetings was reported as “the house next door” until moved to Meeting House Road in 1861 where it still stands today! That same year we also had our first post office! Mr. Dodge delivered mail from his home up State Road 8 into town! There are many good stories behind this event but I will stop here because my paper gets too long already! In 1847-48 we erected our first schoolhouse – a small frame building located just east of present day Hingham Hall School District Headquarters off Spring Brook Road - serving grades K-4 until 1913 when construction began on what would be known as Wellesley Girls’ High School (later Wellesley Senior High School). This building remained operational until 1963 when it burned down due to faulty welding during renovation work! At some point after this fire another small school building also caught fire not far from where we currently stand housing grades 5-8 students today (which sadly closed earlier this year!). All three buildings were eventually replaced with one large high school facility that serves everyone in present day Middleboro Junction!!

Malden is one of the oldest towns in Massachusetts and was first settled in 1635. The town was named for John Malden who came from England in 1624 and had land hereabouts bought by the Massachusettian settlers. In 1776 during the American Revolutionary War, Malden sided with the British against America and lost many of its residents to combatting the war efforts. After independence was achieved in 1783, Malden's population increased to about 20 as part of Hampden County's provisional government under General George Washington. After Independence, Malden became a part of Worcester County until 1802 when it merged with that county to form Hampden County again. The present day city of Malden was established as a separate municipality on April 14th, 1903 following an act approved by the state legislature which allowed municipalities within counties to be formed without prior approval from the county board of supervisors. The first mayor of what is now known as “Malden” was Hosea Moulton (1903-2004). The economy of Malden has been based largely on agriculture since its founding and continues to be so today; however there have also been recent advances in technology which have led to new businesses having come into operation here such as health care services company Mayo Clinic and data center provider NetApp Incorporated Malden's downtown area features several notable landmarks including: Stonington Village Hall (built 1859), First Congregational Church (1872), Southgate School (1892), Mechanics Institute Building (1900), and Post Office Department building (1910). Additionally, there are several other buildings located throughout central MaldEN that date back to earlier years including: Arapahoe Asylum for Boys built 1865; Town House Now used as a library/museum hybrid building 1902- 1904; North End grocery store built 1886; South End grocery store built 1898; White Hart Inn 1840s
