Lawrence, Massachusetts is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 1,682 at the 2010 census. Lawrence was platted in 1785 and named for General James Lawrence of Pennsylvania who led an expedition against the Shawnee Indians. The first post office in Lawrence opened in 1823. The town was one of the original seven towns formed from part of Framingham Township on April 15, 1785 by order of Governor John Winthrop. It became a village on July 16, 1800 and a town on October 14, 1823 by vote of the citizens. The name "Lawrence" probably comes from General James Lawrence's victory over the Shawnee Indians at the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 7, 1775. The first school in Lawrence was built in 1785 and taught by Reverend Ebenezer Goodrich and his students until 1824 when it moved to what is now known as Middlebury Academy which began teaching children in 1827. In 1865 the school moved to its present location where it remains today with over 100 years of history behind it! In 1898 two brothers founded Gannett Paper Company which continues to be headquartered here today with more than $3 billion worth paper products sold each year! Two decades later Gannett merged with Northrop Grumman to create Gannett-Northrop Incorporated whose headquarters are still located here!

This order led to development of Automatic Firearm Cleaning Device (AFCD) systems which were installed on federal police officers' pistols in 1934. These systems consisted of a large drum that contained corrosive material that caused any kind of ammunition residue left behind after each firing cycle to corrode and become removable over time; as such, these devices allowed for more accurate long-range gunfire than manual cleaning methods at the time. With NRA support in 1957 through legislation called "National Firearms Act", automatic firearm cleaning devices became standard on all American military guns by 1959. The use of lasers sighted shotguns has also been reported since 1978 but there is no definitive evidence confirming this claim
