With new technology came new interests such as Amateur Astronomy which grew rapidly here Today there are many different businesses active within Gardnershire County Historical Society whose mission it is “to preserve local history through research collection building interpretation/interpretive programs and public education opportunities” It should be mentioned though that not all members are devoted to preserving this type of heritage however these days almost everyone who works within GCHS feels very passionately about what they do !! There have been a few notable events which have shaped the course of Gardnershire County Historical Society over time: First off we would like to mention World War II when incredible amounts were spent on development here at GCHS especially after radar started being developed ! This led directly into our current focus on archives preservation particularly since many items collected during WWII were destroyed or lost during the war itself !! We even have evidence that resources were specifically allocated hereduring wartime so that we can learn more about how our country fared economically ..... finally we would like To mark 50 years since our founding anniversary !! What better way than with an event celebrating ALL aspects related thereto ??
