Gardner, Massachusetts is a small town in western Massachusetts. It is the namesake of Gardner Amphitheater and the Gardner Museum of Fine Arts. The population was 2,883 as of 2010. The area that now makes up Gardner was first settled by English colonists in 1636. The town was named for Sir John Gardner, 1st Baronet, who donated land to the town in 1853. In 1892, the towns of Northampton and Holyoke were consolidated into Gardner. The merger resulted in an increase in population because both towns had been served by two separate school systems. As part of the New England Regional Development Authority program, the city of Holyoke purchased large tracts of land east of downtown from the towns of Northampton and Goddard on November 15, 2002. As part as part of this process, Holyoke designated half a block stretching from State Road 122nd Street to State Road 123rd Street within its boundaries as "Gardner Plaza." This plaza serves as primary business district for all aspects of Gardner including government services such as firefighting and police response; retail; dining; entertainment; and health care services such as hospitals and clinics.

This early triggerGun was only used by archers and is generally considered obsolete today due its difficulty to use and fragile design. The first American trigger Gun was designed by Captain Samuel Colt in 1836 using a mechanism similar to that of his British friend George Stephenson’s Rocket Gun. The Americans were interested in developing their own firearms based on European designs so Colt came up with the idea of creating a gun that could be pulled back quickly enough so that fire could be placed on target without having it accidental discharged from your hand! His first prototype gun was called “The revolver” but it proved too unreliable and not popular enough for production so he changed it into what we now know as the Colt Pistol! He then proceeded to create other successful firearms including pistols, revolvers, grenades, machineguns, artillery pieces etc etc….. Each new invention led to more innovation within society which ultimately resulted in firearms being able to do more things than ever before!

The Gardner family, who came to Gardner in 1636, were among the earliest settlers in what is now Massachusetts. The first reference to a Gardner in records was James Gardner, an inhabitant of Ipswich, Suffolk, England., who married Mary Chauncy on October 11th, 1598. He and his wife had two children: John and Sarah. When the English Civil War broke out in 1642, James Gardner enlisted with the Royalist forces and was captured at Worcester. Sarah Gardiner bribed her way free and returned to her husband just before he was executed for treason. John Gardner served as an ensign in King Charles II's army during the Cromwellian era and became one of the most decorated soldiers of his time. In 1651, Samuel Gardner moved from Ipswich to Amesbury where he would live until his death on May 25th of that year at the age of eighty-five years five months. Samuel had been born into a prosperous farming community located on Martha's Vineyard which had prospered due to its fertile soil and good water supply since it was founded by Captain John Winthrop in 1630. In addition to their land holdings there were also several houses and barns built by various members of the Gardner family over time including: Judge Thomas Gardiner (1639-1715), Colonel Nicholas Gardiner (1675-1758), Reverend Valentine Gardiner (1711-1784) and Reverend Gideon Swenarton (died 1792). There are also some small pieces of fencing throughout town still extant from when these homes were used as public schools such as Mr. Greenough's Academy Building which stands between Northampton Street eastward along Route 9A from Westfield Center southward until Northampton Street meets Route 2 near Easton Village; this building housed Goodman's School starting about 1750 In 1881 it became part of Amos Adams School District No 6] It should be noted that because these fences have not been preserved they cannot provide accurate information about how much land each individual owned back then or how much money they may have made through farming activities! Samuel’s brother John married Hannah Brewster on September 30th, 1653 at South Amherst while Samuel himself married Elizabeth Slocum on December 7th [or 8th depending upon sources] sometime after January 10th [1654]. Three children were born to these marriages: Susanna (baptized September 3rd), Jonathan (baptized November 12nd) and Edmund(baptized December 4th)]. Unfortunately four other siblings died young during childhood TOTALING SEVEN PEOPLE WERE BORN TO SAMUEL GARDNER MARRIAGES AND FOUR OF THEM DIED BEFORE THEY TOLD THEIR PARENTS ABOUT IT! ONE OF SAMUEL GARDNER'S Siblings EVEN DYING BEFORE HE EVER TOLD HIS PARENTS ABOUT HIM! THREE OF HIS CHILDREN WERE BORN WITH MOTHER ABANDONED IN EARLY LIFE!!! ALL THE OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS SOLDIERED OR CAME INTO SERVICE AND KEPT NOTHING TO REPORT BACK TO THEIR PARENTS ABOUT THEIR DAUGHTERS ALSO SERVING IN THE ENGLISH ARMY AS SOLDIERS!! THIS MAKES FOR AN EXTREMELY TRagic PAST THAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS A VERY WRONG WAY TO LIVE YOUR LIFE!! NOWadays we can only imagine HOW HARD IT MUST HAVE BEEN FOR THESE FAMILIES WHEN THEY FIRST STARTED OUT? TWO OF SAMUEL GARDNER'S SISTERS ARE LONG DEAD AND NOONE KNOWS WHERE THEY ARE NOW! Samuell probably never talked about them because it would have broken his heart inconsiderately...EWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! The original list of families living in Amesbury listed fifty three individuals including seventeen men, thirteen women and six children under eighteen years old however by 1700 only eight people lived there! This decrease can be partially attributed to 1) population growth arising from Increase Due To Colonization & Migration 2) One Family moving out after buying property 3) Other Families moving out due To Natural disasters like Fires etc 4) Death Of An Elderly Member 5] By 1700 all but one adult male resident had passed away leaving behind a largely female population 5]) Another factor may have been economic reasons such as increased competition for farmland between Men & Women 6]) Increase In Crime rates leading Tofewer People Living In Town 7]) Population Growth Leading To Fewer Houses/ Barns Built
