From this initial settlement until 1828 when it became a town, FallRiver consisted of only a few scattered farmsteads scattered along its length of about 50 miles due to lack of any navigable water routes between the communities within range. After local residents voted unanimously in 1904 to incorporate as an independent village under the name "Fall River", much progress has been made since then including construction of both roads and public facilities required for larger towns like Worcester or Chelsea; however there are still many eyesores left throughoutFallRiver's historic district that must be rectified if it is ever hoped to achieve even partial city-like services without tearing down entire centuries-old buildings! Despite all this progress though, much remainsto be done before FallRiver can truly become an accomplished community; such as increasing access to green space (particularly Along Route 9), improving transportation options (including bicycle or car sharing programs) and creating more opportunities for economic development through job creation rather than simply renting out properties!
