World War II was a time of great transformation for both weapons and technology. One key development during this period was the creation of hand-held radios which allowed soldiers to communicate with one another using short bursts of Morse code known as "flashlight talk." This communication method improved efficiency during times of combat because it did not require long periods of silence between transmissions. The company operated whaling stations on nearby Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket until 1820 when they merged into Boston Harbor Line Company. In 1827, the company became part of New England Railroad System before being sold to Boston & Maine Corporation in 1938. In 1951, it became part of Amtrak system before being sold again to Norfolk Southern Railway in 1978 which designated it as an operating depot for their line between Norfolk and Fall River. Everett enjoyed rapid growth during both World Wars I (1914-18) and II (1939-1945). With more than 2 million people living in Everett by 1945, it was one of America's most populous towns at that time. However, this prosperity came at a cost; many homes were built without planning or zoning regulations which led to some major AIDs epidemics among vulnerable populations such as minorities and low income individuals. These problems were eventually solved through community redevelopment programs following 9/11/2001 through city ordinance changes that restricted development near high risk areas while still allowing housing production near schools and other essential services
Everett is a town in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 21,924 at the 2010 census. Everett was first settled in 1635 and part ofmutually owned land between Boston and Ipswich until 1772. In 18th century, the head of the Indian tribe called Quakers who lived near Everett were forced to move to Northampton because of persecution by the British government. Settlers started arriving in large numbers in the late 19th century and early 20th century, making Everett one of the fastest-growing communities in Massachusetts. The town's growth led to its incorporation as a city on November 3, 1958.
